The Official #22/#17 Tennessee vs. East Tennessee State Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, ESPN+/SEC Network+

And least you forget, Juan Jennings took it away from several Bulldogs in Athens several years back. :)
I haven’t forgotten by any means. That was LITERALLY a “ Hail Mary “ situation in the last seconds of a game we were behind in. Worst case..Jennings didn’t make that spectacular catch and we lost anyway.
Today, totally different circumstances and I hope Aguilar recognizes that.

Anyone learning anything of importance from this?

I'm an adult male in my 50's, anyone want to watch me arm wrestle a 9 year old?

No? Then why not just give ETSU the money, make up a score, and move on.... this is terrible
We learned that we have a QB who missed spring practice but has a good grasp of the offense and looks ready for the SEC.

Did Healy not shake hands? We bought their jerseys and paid their buses gas for the next 3 years..
Healy knew before he got there what he was facing. And Heupel needed to give the first string opportunities to work out the kinks and to improve their skills. Then give the 2nd and 3rd string some reps. No one ran up a score unreasonably. Healy needs to put on his big boy britches.

Star is gonna be this years Sampson. He's special
Sampson is wayyy better than any back on this team, no offense. He would absolutely crack 2k yards behind this Oline. This O-line is wayyyy bigger and wayyyy better. We upgraded at every position. I love Cooper Mays, but he was far too small and got shoved around. Heard is beastly this year. Perry is massive and moves very well. The guards are strong and play angry.

Because ETSU needed the opportunity to learn from playing a tough team, and we needed the opportunity to work out our 1st strings kinks and give our 2nd and 3rd string some reps in a real game - not the practice field against our own. That's how the system works - or have you never watched a game. ETSU could have turned the offer down if they didn't like it.

Lots of good things, but if you had to pick out one bad thing it would be the play of Ethan Davis. That was terrible. That’s two games in a row he’s gotten penalties to erase a TD. He absolutely whiffed a block that nearly got Matthews decapitated. Need to see the young TEs because Davis is playing terrible.

I'll hold my say until after we play Georgia next week. Now, if they pit a whopping on them up front next week, then I'm with you. It's going to be a real test for them. I pray they're up for it and we get our +200 on the ground again.

I’m not surprised that Tennessee bulldozed an entirely outmatched ETSU, however I am pretty surprised that I was not far off for the score.

Tennessee 72
ETSU 17

My predicted score for this colossal mismatch was
Tennessee 63
ETSU 13
