Am I reading Dave Van Horn's record right? He's been at Arkansas since 2003. In that time they've been to the MCWS 8 times and have only reached the Finals once, losing to Oregon State in humorous fashion. Is that it?

I do believe that's correct. Arkansas has given DVH everything he needs to bring it home.
I suppose he'll be there until he's ready, or until the wheels come off.
I'm sure there are many associated with that program that would love to see him gone.

I agree. I’ve said a few times now, that I think Coastal is the team to beat.

That’s just baseball. Heck, FSU has been to Omaha 24 times without a national championship.

Oh I get it. I'm not saying he's a terrible coach. He's a great coach. Averaging a trip every three years over the last few decades is nothing to write off. It's just that all I hear is he's the best, my Arkansas buddy swears by him (And thinks ole Tony will bolt for Ark when he leaves), but It's surprising that he's only been to one final in 8 appearances. He just hit his second 50 win season. Tony already has several of those (And a 60) besides the obvious Championship. We got lucky with him, glad he's here.

I won’t bat an eye if LSU wins another title. Doesn’t bother me. I don’t think their fanbase is that obnoxious and since they already have a case filled with national title trophies one more ain’t going to change anything.

I have a good friend working at Coastal so I’ll root for the underdog. Got friends at LSU too but, they have plenty of trophies. In the words of Kenny Chesney…”He’ll go coastal on ya“.

As a Coastal local, I can tell you the preferred cheer is "Chants Up!"-- if you really want to get into the teal. LOL.

I do have to say it's pretty awesome to have my beloved Vols win last year and the school where I currently live in the finals this year. I watched CCU play a bunch this year, and I'm not at all surprised they are where they are. Fundamentally sound team across the board.

What did they lie about? Admitting you?

The guy I talked to said that UT would waive/take transfer credit for the MBA (it was only 1 class at the time). At that point, it was 15 classes vs 11*. Made no good sense to take 4 more classes just for it to say UT.

*15 vs 12 overall, but I had taken the 1 class at LSU already.

They have a nice ballpark. I like the rocking chairs out there down the baselines.

I still can’t believe how that happened

The Chitlins choked in their first CWS game, too, they just didn't go "full Arkansas," so fewer people noticed.

Maybe it's all of that overweening pedigree and nonpareil fandom and building size that makes them feel their smallness and unworthiness. I'm surprised people are surprised. Excluding the ones unconsciously imitating the announcers' bias and funereal game summary.

Arkansas is sorta like the Minnesota Vikings or Buffalo Bills of college baseball. They haven't won anything but they are still the best, and you can ask their fans if you don't believe me.

To me, that is one of the craziest stats of all-time.

0-24 is impressive, but not in a good way.

Runner-up only 3 times as well.

AND, the Seminoles are the second most successful NCAA Division I college baseball program in percentage of games won, with an all-time win percentage of .717

I'm rooting for Coastal, but I'm not emotionally invested. But there are advantages to LSU winning, too, and I don't have any problem with LSU or LSU fans. I like some of them. I've watched baseball and football with them.

99% of people outside of Louisiana are rooting for Coastal! If LSU wasn’t in the final, I’m guessing I would be too! It’s all good. This is one of the more surprising finals LSU has made for me. I did not see this happening. Sure, we have some great players, but it was always the lack of depth at pitching that bothered me. But, some of those boys have come around, and are looking much better in the last month, which is what every team wants to see from their players. I’ll be bummed if LSU doesn’t win, but they’ve exceeded my expectations, and I’ll take that for sure.
