We do. We need the baseball savvy to lead the way at home and to model, for example, when to make noise. When to stand and cheer for someone coming out of the game. Etc. Whatever appears lacking. Be the example. I think it will happen.

When I attended I already knew how to cheer. It should be pretty self explanatory, but then again, I had been hanging with you guys. Our (small) road crowd was great. I suppose DW needs to figure out how to get the students nearer the action. Whatever it takes.

As far as all the asshats who show up in our forum here, they do the same thing in football and basketball too. I already had half of then on ignore. And quickly added the other half.

Been many complaints about stadium announcements and timely music selections as well. All of it together plays a part. Not something I think Coach has time to work on, a collective effort is required imo. It’s doable. I believe.

GBO!!!

All of that definitely needs to be worked through with DW and then with the appropriate staff. I agree. I don't like it either. Our most knowledgeable fans here could lead the way by making the list of things that need to be done differently. Maybe some big NIL donors could present that in a constructive but enthusiastic manner. DW says he wants CTV to have everything he needs. These things fit that bill. CTV is going to need to be on board with the checklist and make additions or alterations as he sees fit. I don't think that would be too much of a time suck.

Yeah it’s called if you slide outside the bag or make intentional/excessive contact. That slide was about as straight on as it could’ve been. I just don’t see the need to use a challenge on a call you have no shot of changing. I’d rather eat knowing I had it in case something more controversial came up. There’s no right or wrong decision on challenges, I’m just not using it in that situation, feels like your grasping.
Yep, I know the rule.

Amen, sister.

The announcers told the viewers repeatedly literally that they had to feel sorry for them. So many people overwrite their sense and obey the television.
I’m sick of the hypocrisy from everyone, particularly them. They have the audacity to talk about how much of an a-hole they think Tony is yet want him to be their coach. Make it make sense 😆 Friking morons, all of them.

But if he’d gone for the double play it would’ve ended the game and Arkansas would’ve won, correct?
Cant assume a double play and technically it wasn’t an error. Aloy definitely made a big mental blunder. He no showed on the press conference which was a bad look. DVH handled the presser with total class.

If you have a way to see a replay, you should definitely watch the bottom of the 9th inning. Extremely enjoyable.

Until then, here is a good recap from Louisiana Radio Network -- who is in awe at (yet another) Arkansas CWS choke for the ages.

It started with one out and nobody on base. Derek Curiel hit a ground ball to the right side and Arkansas first baseman Reese Robinett elected to field the grounder, when he should have allowed the second baseman get it. Robinett’s throw to the pitcher covering first base was wild and Curiel went to second.
Ethan Frey walked.
And then the Razorbacks absolutely collapsed. LSU shortstop Stevan Milam hit what appeared to be a double play ball to Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy. For whatever reason, the future first round pick threw to third to get the lead runner, instead of trying to start a game ending 6-4-3 double play.
So two outs, runners at first and second and LSU catcher Luis Hernandez hits a liner right at the Arkansas left fielder Charles Davalan, who slips and the ball hits off his right shoulder towards the left field corner as he falls to the ground. Frey and Milam easily score to tie the game 5-5.
Arkansas brought in right-handed pitcher Aiden Jimenez to face Jared Jones, who homered off Gabe Gaeckle earlier in the game.

The Razorbacks had the option of walking Jones with first base open, but they elected to pitch to the “Bear.”
Jimenez was not going to throw Jones a fastball. He threw Jones four sliders away and Jones hit a looping liner towards Arkansas second baseman Cam Kozeal. Kozeal leaped, the ball hit his glove and fell in shallow center field and Hernandez came racing around third base with the winning run.
While LSU celebrated in the outfield, several Arkansas players were in disbelief and crying, including Davalan who couldn’t make the catch for the final out of the game.

They are saying “we have the best of everything, the best team, the best stadium”, the best fans, the best play by play guy”. They are so arrogant and full of themselves.
It’s not just the Arkansas fanbase who thinks a lot of that to be fair, pretty consensus around college baseball on the facilities and fan support

i would have voted MS State for best facilities and LSU for fan support but Ark is top 3 regardless. With that said, Ark certainly has a case for both. I think there were more Ark fans than LSU in Omaha.

PS I’ve always had a lot of respect for DvH but even more now as he handled an extremely difficult press conference with total class. He‘s a gem of a person and coach, and I can see why he’s been so successful. He will get a NC.

If they were “the best team” there, they wouldn’t have lost 4-1 in game 1. And they sure as hell wouldn’t have choked tonight. They have a TON of talent, but if they can’t put it together when it matters… then it doesn’t matter. They’re not even the 2nd best team in Omaha.
I think that title might belong to y'all. No offense. We'll see though.

I still can’t believe how that happened
Agreed. I rewatched the 9th inning last night after the game and had forgotten that the Ark 1B made a 2 base throwing error on what should have been a routine 4-3 out for the 2nd out. Ark gave LSU 3 extra outs—4 if you count the should have been double play. Just an absolute brutal way to lose a game—especially in the CWS.

Am I reading Dave Van Horn's record right? He's been at Arkansas since 2003. In that time they've been to the MCWS 8 times and have only reached the Finals once, losing to Oregon State in humorous fashion. Is that it?
