Yeah, I think if you are LSU you have to win this game with the lack of reliable pitching options after Anderson and Eyanson. I don't think LSU has enough pitching to beat Arkansas and then UCLA twice. You have to use whatever bullets you have to win this one, even if it isn't your normal way of handling your staff. Now, if they can't finish it off, there's real trouble for them.
I would have like to have Evans for tomorrow, if they can hold onto this win. And if they could somehow win tomorrow as well, then they would have both Anderson and Eyanson throwing in the finals. Wishful thinking though.

I totally get where you're coming from. I was never more than a rec league/small time travel ball coach but one lesson I learned early on is that you can't coach tomorrow's game until tomorrow, especially in a tournament setting.

Well, my hopes coming into the CWS was that we could win two games. I thought that would be a good showing for this team. Anything else is a bonus. But, I also thought we would have to pick up those wins in the losers bracket. I’m guessing the Hogs will beat UCLA tonight, and it’s going to be a tough ask to beat them again tomorrow. I still think Coastal is the team to beat overall though.

(Y)UCLA has quite a day set for itself today. 😂

I wish they could find an (“anything can happen in baseball”) way to beat the Swine, but I’m not holding my breath. That’s why I felt reluctant about LSU losing this morning. We might need them to send the nasty pigs home.

Arkansas has shown little offense

So if a team earns its way to the CWS, but they are a small school, how do you propose we keep them out?
I rather enjoyed Murray State's run. I'm a UTM grad and they were a conference rival while I was in school. Plus, it's not like they lucked into an easy path. They beat an SEC team twice on their home field in regionals followed by beating an ACC team twice on their home field in the supers.
