Bummer. Unless it’s quick, which it doesn’t look like it will be, Eyanson is done. Will be interesting to see who CJJ puts on the mound. I have to think he’d want to keep Evans for the next game. Cowan, who was brilliant the first 3/4s of the season has gotten rocked his last 4 times out. We’ve got 3-4 guys that can go 1-2 innings, all of which have fastballs at 98 to 100, but all lack control. We really needed at minimum 6 innings from Eyanson today. Wish we had a 4 or 5 run lead, bc I don’t see 5 runs winning this at all.

So HBP cancels a perfect game? But HBP does not count as a hit with respect to a no hitter? Is that correct?

Btw, AI appears to have its facts wrong, if that’s the case.

A HBP doesn’t cancel a no hitter but does cancel a perfect game. Wood pitched a no hitter—only 3rd one in CWS history.

Since y'all like to make fun of LSU fans drinking, thought I’d post this. Taken from The Tiger Rant this morning!

LSU makes controversial decision to send their drinkers back in on short rest.

OMAHA NEWS-

The Tigers shocked the CWS this morning after the decision to send their lead off Drinkers back in the game for morning warmups. Their veteran drinkers, who had already been in tailgate warmup mode the last two days, pounded shots through the first four innings.

When the game went into rain delay, their drinkers continued as if nothing changed, perhaps going even harder, in assumption that the game would resume that night. "We didn't want to lose our edge." One said.

That momentum carried until almost 11 pm, when the announcement came that the game was postponed until 10 am the following day. After several more rounds to "cool off", it was widely assumed that the Tigers would need to bring in their relief drinkers after their Aces went so many rounds.

Yet, in the clear of the morning, LSU found their relievers...AND their starters, back in warmups. "Mama didn't raise no punk.", one slurred. "I can go all night, and all day." (His wife gave a look of doubt.)

ETA:
"Reporters with UCLA had this to say.

'We rely on a deep bullpen of short service drinkers. They've got a variety of drinks in their arsenal. A wine cooler, watered down Jell-O shot, maybe a white claw. We've been known to throw down a bud light on occasion, and we supplement with mocktails. We're used to our drinkers not being able to go the distance. We'll be fine.'"
