Weird to see that Tennessee has statistically one of the toughest regionals when IMO our draw isn’t bad at all. But I guess numbers don’t always tell the story because that average RPI is weighted higher for us because we have one of the better 4-seeds and some regions have 4-seed bid stealers with extremely low RPI numbers making it looking easier than it is.

Yeah, I tend to judge the toughness of a region only by how strong the 2nd best team is. You could have 2 terrible teams in your region (relatively speaking), but if that 2 seed is tough then it becomes a tough region because once you get past the 1st game you're just going to have to keep beating that #2 team.

In our region we have 2 pretty strong teams besides us, but does that really matter? I think there is only 1 good team in Arkansas' region (aside from Arkansas), but I believe Kansas is better than either Wake or Cincinnati, so in my eyes, that becomes a tougher regional than ours.

Something that has not been said, as far as I have heard, is this is the first year that there could be all 8 teams in Omaha from SEC. They normally have a super or 2 that cannot be won by an SEC team. I don't think it will happen but it could be done.

True. Although that would require Oklahoma beating UNC and Oregon which I can’t see happening. But yeah, could happen technically! Which is interesting.

Took a couple minutes to look at it without the 4 Seeds... Obviously looking at it this way has a bigger influence by the #1 seed's RPI, but seems like we have a pretty normal difficulty as far as a region goes, especially for a #14 seed.

12 Regions have a higher RPI #2 Seed, BUT we have the 2nd Highest 3 Seed. I feel like the committee did a pretty solid job, outside of the layup it gave LSU...

Hardest Regions
- Austin (AVG 22)
- Corvallis (AVG 22.6)
- Nashville (AVG 23)
- Tallahassee (AVG 23.6)
- Hattiesburg (AVG 24)
- Eugene (AVG 24)
- Fayetteville (AVG 24.6)
- Oxford (AVG 24.6)
- Knoxville (AVG 24.6)
- Clemson (AVG 25)
- Athens (AVG 26.3)
- Chapel Hill (AVG 27.3)
- Los Angeles (AVG 29)
- Conway (AVG 30.6)
- Auburn (AVG 32.6)
- Baton Rouge (AVG 33.3)

LSU's regional is a joke (a bad one at that); glad to see the RPI back that up

I was thinking about that yesterday. Very interesting possibility for that to happen. Would not be surprising in the least.

I still need someone explain to me like I’m 5yrs old how in the hell Auburn is the 4 seed.
They ended up third in the RPI with the first ranked strength of schedule. Even though they lost 3 Q4 games, they only played 11 (which was second fewest in the SEC behind Ole Miss). Georgia was second in the RPI and got the 7th seed. That can be debated but not sure it's egregious.

I would like for UT to try to reduce the 19 Q4 games we played. I know geography is part of it, but we could probably get a little better at it.

I bet it’s not Tennessee alone in sending out this type of email: I received the email about requesting super regional tickets if Tennessee gets to host a super.

Season ticket holders should check their email. There’s a deadline to sign up.
