Well, Houston did have some luck in to get to the championship game. Barely beat Purdue, UT shot maybe the worse half of our entire year, and Duke had one of the biggest choke jobs I have ever witnessed in a college basketball game of that magnitude.
Their luck was bound to run out.

People were talking in this thread yesterday about folks not really caring much about cbb anymore. Main two reasons imo: cbb is a semi-pro league now, which pushes people away from the sport.
Piss poor, inconsistent, and downright malicious officiating is the other. Why care when a crew calls 3 fouls on a team in NINE SECONDS? They put their fingers on the scale, plain and simple.

I put this loss on Sampson. You can’t control the crappy officiating, but you can do more than just tell your guys to be tougher. Houston’s offense is awful when they can’t out athlete the other team.

And yes, I think the officiating ruined the second half like everyone else.
