We just don't have it this year. We don't have much pitching beyond Doyle, Philips can be hit or miss. We have some hitters but we can't seem to get guys home when it counts. Fielding is killing us. The error by Curley seems like a momentum killer. I don't want to dump on Curley but we need to take him out of the field and put someone else in there.
A big drop off from last year. One would expect him to improve.

Thing is ... if all of us are thinking it or saying it ... what are the players sitting the bench thinking ... team chemistry seems very off.

Well, you never know. I mean certainly not the team you guys had last season, but it’s pretty hard to complain too much about that. Definitely capable of playing well enough to make some noise in the postseason, and like said above, you never know in baseball. You guys are absolutely a team that could make a postseason push if you get hot.

Heck, I’m happy with how my Dawgs are doing, we are capable also. I’d love to see us get hot in the big show and really make a push. I’ll be extremely happy if we can make it to Omaha. I’m not counting on it, but it’s possible.
Would not want to face the base dawgs anytime soon. They seem to play very loose and have the ability to come back from behind. That's the biggest thing won't this VOLS team. Can't climb out of a whole.

I hope that is not the case. It is a hard thing, to sit the bench watching the guy ahead of you not playing well, and not develop some sort of attitude.

Well I have no inside info, but I agree with Beano on Basilio. I'd rather see a player fielded not bc "you can't sit him bc it will hurt his draft stock" but "bc instead play the one who gives the team the best chance to win." Yeah I'm with Beano. Quit playing people bc you can't hurt their draft stock.

Truth is, that person not fielding well, is hurting their own draft stock by being out there. I agree with your sentiment.

In defense of the guy, you won a NC last year with him at SS yet they chose to move him all around the infield. I hope TV learned you don’t play shuffling your infield all year. Figure out your infield & stick to it. If one gets hurt replace them, but don’t change everyone else.

This is similar to football losing a safety & moving everyone else in the secondary as a result. No, find another safety. You weakened every infield position by shuffling everyone around. I’m not comfortable anytime an opponent hits a ground ball, pop up or fly ball now.

He started the year playing SS, but having inconsistent fielding and throws. CTV looked for ways to help the team are started moving him around.

Good grief. Did we lose another series? Was at a wedding all day. Thought me not watching might change our luck. Here’s hoping the BaseVOLS get hot in the post season.

Unfortunately, we did, maybe we will. My personal feeling watching the game today is we seemed tired/frustrated, composure wasn’t there, lots of things. We aren’t young anymore though, inexperienced maybe, but we’re 50+ games in now. We got what we got, but a break might serve us well.
