We don’t have Vol Calls anymore so the Tony Basilio show will have to do for first hand accounts of BVS and utter fan delusion. But good lord the number of pissed off Vol fans mad that we didn’t win by 40. Give criticism where it due I agree but dang they want Josh fired tomorrow over A WIN…Kirby is considered the elite coach in the NCAA and I promise you somewhere on their boards and calls to a podcast somebody is calling for him to be fired. It’s going to get worse folks, NIL has started to even the playing field.

Interestingly, my no 2 daughter (who is a college football fanatic) told me the day before that we were going to have our hands full - that MS State has a talented team this year. College ball is kind of on its head with the portal and NIL.

Yes, played sports my entire life up through being a D-1 college athlete. Very aware of the ups/downs of performance over the course of a season. Its one thing to say "don't over look" any team but its another to say a MSST team that had lost 12 SEC games in a row (now 13) is a tough team.

I bet you were a helluva teammate. Every season stands on its own. Like I said, I’m gonna save that post of yours. If you’re right, and MSST sucks at the end of the year I’ll sing your praises. If they knock off a good team or 2 will you do the same?

Especially in the portal era. Teams can change direction in one season now that you can go out and get new players so easily. MS is still in the mid to lower portion of the conference but they are much better than last year. And playing in Starkville is never a picnic.

I have no problem declaring MSST a "good" team if they finish the SEC with at least a .500 conference record. Anything less than that and it makes no sense. To date, MSST has beat So Miss (3-2 Sun Belt), Arizona St (4-1 Big12), Alcorn St (0-4 SWAC) & No Illinois (1-3 MAC). That is not an impressive resume. Time will tell.
