Banks isnt bad but he isnt good either. His D is just more times than not pretty average.

This all day. The first half went about the way I expected. Miss State is a scrappy bunch but we are more talented. We need to come out and run it. I want to see a long drive that sets the tone. We pull away midway through the 4th

They have to mix it up more. When it's a running situation, any team against us is going to send the house. More play action or RPO during those downs to keep them true.

On most of the long runs the DE were stunting inside…ran themselves right out of the play…of course when they rush wide the RB cuts inside them…it’s like we’re missing a LB out there

DEs collapsing in is the issue. Not sure I've ever seen DEs coached to try the inside shoulder of the OL all the time. It makes it too easy.

I saw that a few times too. May have been a safety or LB though who was supposed to scrape out to C gap. But 100% we have had a few big runs we gave up because the DE went inside to B gap and no one showed up in the C gap.

Agree. Get a quick six (with PAT), a stop, and another six. Get up two scores.

But, what are the odds the above will happen?

Get up 2+ scores and MSSt will be forced to stop running the damn ball that TN can't seem to stop consistently

Also gilbert is worse this year than he was last year and some of our personnel decisions on special teams are perplexing at best.

Like, how do you not have someone who can field punts on the roster 4 weeks into the season?
