The Official #15 Tennessee vs. #6 Georgia Game Thread, 3:30 ET, ABC

This team is learning how to win a huge game. This was clearly holding. The Vols got robbed, but they will be better. Imagine if the had Moi, McCoy, and Gibson. I’ve said the Vols will be 6-6. No longer. I think they win out.

Yes, I saw the holding too live. I didn't harp on it because it's a 50/50 call. Sometimes they miss those and when they didn't call it, it didn't matter anymore.

That’s what I just said
I was trying to point out Tennessee didn’t have to play the perfect game to be in that position to beat them, let alone actually beat them, and that the fact that they didn’t says something about the Vols level this year also (in a positive way).

That’s negative momentum in coaches heads. Run the ball one more time, get some positive yards, call timeout and and kick.

No guarantees but better rhythm.

You really think 5 yards would have made a difference on that kick?
I think getting cute and allowing for an unnecessary mistake looking for the perfect “setup” created doubt and precipitated loss. In his time here he’s shown a propensity to have trust in players in big moments . This really was confusing to watch.

people need to log out and get sober. The team lost but there's still 9 games ahead of us that are all winnable that could lead to more games and maybe a rematch against the dogs down the line. Huepel put us in position to win but UGA still has more dudes and it showed. Every game is winnable.

I’m not so sure I’d say Fulmer had a recurring choke issues most seasons. It was more he just couldn’t get over the hump of Spurrier, and then later, Richt (unfortunately making the handful of years there was a loss to another ranked team hurt any more).

Also Kirby Smart was never as Missouri…what in the world are you thinking about?
Not beating Spurrier when you had better teams at the time is the choke job.

Agreed. Very much coaching malpractice. It smelled of someone that was scared to leave even a second on the clock. Worst coaching I’ve seen from the best coach we’ve had. I wouldn’t trade him but that was 100% on CJH.
I sure hope he owns it with the postgame commentary. None of his typical “good effort but lack of execution “ coach speak. Own it , admit you made some mistakes and talk about next week. This team is going to need some leadership rn. You know they’re devastated.
