I think if we can get healthy at d line and corner things may get better, but I’m generally concerned about the lack of fundamentals from the front 7. Telander and Carter both look like they have regressed to me.

Maybe. But there are likely to be more injuries later in the year.
I’m thinking more and more this is supposed to be one of those defenses designed around the whole “spread hurry up offense gets up by 3-4 scores quickly on its first drive, defensive bend but doesn’t break pressuring to force another turnover while the other offense trying to force something switches to heavier passing in a panic to try to keep up, and then another score or 2 pushes the other offense into full forced panic”

I’m not sure how designed for defensive, low scoring slugfests this year’s defense is (as opposed to say those like 48-24 types of games the spread offenses of the mid/late 2000s and 2010s seemed to like).
