What's with that punting technique--taking a step or two to the right before kicking? Just punt the ball normally. Was
he trying to angle the ball out of bounds? If so, why?

Rugby style punt. Works great if you can get a roll, but doesn’t work well the way he did it.

He's from Australia. It's a rugby style kick. More and more popular allowing gunners to get down the field
