Your point remains but that Ole Miss team was a lot worse than this team in regular season. They shouldn’t have even made the tournament, and got in on name alone.Fingers crossed we can find whatever late season magic Ole Miss found in 2022. That team looked rough and at times just plain bad in SEC play. Then look at how they finished. Just sayin. Don’t lose hope with this team.
And I’m sure you can figure out which coach was which! I don’t think Skip ever gave a damn about Hoover. He cared about Omaha. And that’s a big part of why he’ll go down in history as one of the greatest to ever do it. Skip wasn’t just great for LSU. He was great for the entirety of college baseball.A very kind LSU fan told me in Baton Rouge a few weeks ago - “you’d like to win these games, yes, but none of this, or Hoover matters… and the sooner your fans figure that out, the better you will be.” It was followed by a long rant on how one of your prior coaches never won in Hoover but won in Omaha, and another won in Hoover but never in Omaha.
I think with Doyle we can beat anyone , we just need for some other pitchers to get it goingFingers crossed we can find whatever late season magic Ole Miss found in 2022. One of the worst fan bases in online forums and social media. The point was best decade of Tennessee sports in the last half century and all you see is people complaining. I think that was a fair assessment. From Rick Barnes can’t make it to a final 4, to baseball sucks, to football. There’s plenty of recent fanbase meltdowns to give credence to the argument.
^^^^People need to get out of their bubble and stop acting like this fanbase is the only one that complains. It’s simply NOT true. Maybe I’ve been crankier than normal, and it has more to do with the content moaning about the fans and complaining about the environment at LNS than it does the actual team itself.
We are NOT special. Our fanbase is NOT uniquely terrible. I spend far too much time on the internet, I could probably use a hiatus, and I can safely say that there is NOTHING about this fanbase that makes us worse than anyone else. It’s not true.
This team has simply learned to live with losing. We don't have enough mature arms nor do we have guys who can lift a team by their sheer will and presence. While it's been a drop off and disappointment to date, I can appreciate what this team has been able to accomplish. Not saying they can't sweep Arky and hit the tournament on a heater,.but I honestly don't think they have that kind of response/run in them. Can't win 'em all, and there's always next season I guess.People need to get out of their bubble and stop acting like this fanbase is the only one that complains. It’s simply NOT true. Doyle has been dominant out there. Unfortunately, after him it’s a deep drop off. If we are this frustrated as fans I can’t even imagine how Tony must be feeling.I really enjoy Tony’s perspectives after a tough result. You can tell he is pretty perturbed by our Saturday efforts in recent weeks after Doyle is laying it all on the line every Friday night. Team needs to get closer together and let these disappointments galvanize them for a postseason run.
