Defense played great but is gassed after one quarter. It’s a major disadvantage of the system when the offense doesn’t work.

Yeah the offense has to do something though. Can’t get less first downs than you have possessions and expect any time to come off the clock.
The offense is so far behind where they need to be

They sure are. Their offense is lousy and their defense is gassed. Teams dominate the time of possession because our QB and play calls are plainly deficient in this conference. The offensive coaching is way below deficient.
