Fair enough….
Most of the people who get paid to have an opinion had us winning 6-7 games after the offseason. even the homers in our pick the record thread were saying 3-5 losses (I said one loss but that was a troll. I really thought 4 losses at best. So that would make this year a year you play a bunch of young guys to get experience and try to make a serious run next year. Apparently Hypel can take spit, Duct tape, a good attitude and a roster with all kinds of holes and potentially win 10 games (could have been 11 if we made a FG) in a transition year.

If he takes this roster to the playoffs he’s coach of the year, if he wins a playoff game he’s coach of the decade

I see this year as a transition in that Nico left, Vols true frosh and RS frosh weren’t ready, and CJH grabbed Aguilar from the portal. Yeah, there was a wholesale change of the OL, some true freshman are playing, but those things can happen in the ebb and flow of CFB. Still, much more disruption to the planned growth of the program.
