The Official #10 Auburn @ #12 Tennessee Series Thread (Sat. May 3 11AM EDT) (Sun. May 4 1PM EDT) (Sun. May 4 45 mins after) (All games SECNET+)

I have a legit question. Does the rain make a new pitcher have to show up as a rule? I keep seeing people say that was what happened to Doyle and now for tonight. Not the rain but the rain delay lol.

It’s not a “rule”, but if you’ve thrown already and you sit for a long time, chances are unlikely. In Liam’s case, kinda hard to pitch to any extent this weekend because he will be pitching next Friday.

We can lead the nation in runs scored and runs not scored at the same time for all I care, so long as we’re competing and playing to our potential. We’re not there yet, we’re young and there’s room to grow and I’m confident in seeing plenty to be proud of on into June. I may just have to yell at the sky a time or three in the meantime 😂

Log off and close your account. Follow high school or middle school ball. This is not for you.
So I recently moved and just discovered today, that I’m about 20 minutes away from Tennessee Wesleyan and that the Bulldogs have a bad ass baseball program, at least this year.
Me and my boys will definitely take in some Tennessee Wesleyan baseball next season!

There is a mix of tradition and and protecting the pitchers arm. There is a lot of warm-up and preparation to pitch. Completing that preparation two days in a row puts lots of strain on a arm, then add the actual game pitches. Also have to consider these guys are young with professional goals and don't want to risk injury or missing their next start.

In the old man or beer league, the guy probably starts the next day with maybe a shorter pitch count.

No it’s just uncommon for guys to come back the next day having warmed up and pitched in the game that’s suspended

Are you just “pain shopping” to know that info?
Nope. I love stats.
Probably on the spectrum.
I've been looking at team batting average thru sec play. Very interesting. And makes the games less painful to tolerate. Stats don't lie as they say.

VOLS actually batted .097 in one of the losses to KY. In LNS. Hard to believe that actually happened.
