The Official #10 Auburn @ #12 Tennessee Series Thread (Sat. May 3 11AM EDT) (Sun. May 4 1PM EDT) (Sun. May 4 45 mins after) (All games SECNET+)

There’s a non zero chance this was all CTV. If you’ve heard him speak in interviews since the turf was installed, he raves about it draining water and he loves not having rain delays/rain outs. He scoffs at Basilio whenever he asks about potential weather and potential double headers. He hates playing two. We’ve also played in monsoons in prior years with no stoppage as well.

Not saying he had the final say but I know he is all for playing tonight.
That's fine. But can we wait 15 for the storm to pass?

I know the situation sucks, but honestly this is a good opportunity for the team to nut up and learn to overcome adversity. They’ve lacked confidence this season. This is a good chance for them to find out what kind of team they are and build momentum for the final stretch of the season.

I feel I know baseball well, but I don't know this part of it. If we are unable to play tonight, do we start tomorrow (or Sunday) at 2-0 since we only played half an inning in the first? or do we just start over?

I agree with this. To me it would be a slap in the face that they make our ace pitch and shut him down. It should give us an edge. If we let this affect us and we mope we don’t have a chance in the post season. The last 4 years we would have come out with our hair on fire. This team needs a spark!

what’s the verdict? I thought I heard game was cancelled so I tuned out. Must have been lady vols. Dang it why is it 2-0.

So, if the bad weather continues, and even through tomorrow, I’m guessing you’d play a DH on Sunday, and just not play game 3 at all. This has happened in the past. LSU only played 29 SEC games in one of the last 3 seasons I believe. Can’t remember which year, but I’ll look it up in a bit. So I’m guessing they’d resume game 1 on Sunday, and then play game 2 directly afterwards. I guess there’s a possibility gsme 3 could be made up as a midweek game, if both teams have the availability, but that’s a big if. Best scenario to hope for, is to find a way to get game 1 in the books before Sunday, and then play a DH on Sunday. Whatever the case, someone made a HUGE mistake starting this game.

Can't think of a taller hill to climb under the circumstances. Let's see what this team is made of and how they respond. It will tell us a lot about who and what we are.
