The Official #1 Tennessee vs Tennessee Tech Tuesday Game Thread (6:30PM EST) (SEC NETWORK +)

BECK -------- ------ BECK
LIPCUIS -------- ------- LIPCUIS
RUSSELL ------- ------ RUSSELL
ORTEGA ------ ----- BURKE/MOORE
LAWSON ------- ------ ORTEGA
STEPHENSON / SCOTT ------------ LAWSON

This is my thoughts on a couple line up ideas. To me Drew has developed into that role, and I personally think Jared Dickey handles the bat as good as anyone in the Country. Possibly would give Drew and Trey some extra at bats. Not a big change really to what we have, which has been working just fine. Just a fan talking about small adjustments.

I like. You've also got the alternate L/R thing going on there. Nice. I assume Dickey is your DH?

Plate discipline might have carried over from the Mizzou series. I forgot what evening it was, but I recall Coach saying that there was impatience at the plate that got better as the game went on. Looks like the issue reared its head again last night. Difference between this past weekend and last night was that there were several guys still hitting and scoring runs during the Mizzou series. You make a great point about plate discipline bring contagious. Hopefully they will be more focused on improvements in that area.

Jared has been great setting the tone for the rest of the lineup. It’s unfortunate that his bone bruise injury is affecting his time in the lead off role. I wonder if Christian as hit a freshman wall. He will learn and grow. It’ll be interesting to see what Coach V does to tinker with the lineup this weekend.

Christian and Seth have been given opportunities at leadoff, they just haven't seized them and made the most of it. I saw Booker in the game last night. Maybe he could see time at leadoff.

Agree with all your observations. Booker seems to be back from injury - which is great to see. He pinch hit the very last AB. I hope we see more of him this weekend.

This was a huge night for Tennessee Tech and will be talked about for years. I think it was also a good night for Tennessee. Perhaps they overlooked an in-state team And this might serve as a reminder for the rest of the season not to overlook anyone. My wife and I are Tennessee graduates but my son plays for Tennessee Tech. I hate to see Tennessee lose but I love to see Tech win.
Matt Bragga, as assistant HC, recruited my son and signed him at Birmingham Southern. His recruiting helped put BSC sports on the map (before being taken off the map by a football-minded board of directors, going from D-1 to DIII). Bragga is an outstanding coach and an even better human being. All the BSC players that played for him love him. One of the most positive people you'll ever meet. Hope he makes it back to Omaha.
