Centerhung Display Details
Four main video displays each measure nearly 15 feet high by 24.5 feet wide. Four corner wedge displays fit between the main displays for a seamless experience. Each of those displays measures nearly 15 feet high by 5 feet wide. The main displays are each capable of variable content zoning allowing each to show one large image or multiple zones of live video, instant replays, statistics, game information, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages.

Below the main displays, a ring display measures more than 3 feet high by 103 feet in circumference. This provides supplemental graphics and information to the main displays. On the underside of the centerhung, two displays are angled toward the sidelines to appeal to those people sitting closer to the court. Each underbelly display measures nearly 6 feet high by 20 feet wide. All centerhung displays feature 5.9-millimeter pixel spacing.

Additional Display Details
Each corner of the arena features a corner board, four in total, to bring additional views of replays, stats and messaging. Each measures nearly 11 feet high by 18 feet wide and features a 5.9-millimeter pixel spacing.

Circling the seating bowl, a 360-degree ribbon display is mounted to the seating fascia. This display measures approximately 2.5 feet high by nearly 880 feet in length and features a 10-millimter pixel spacing. Along the sidelines, 6 scorers tables can be organized in any configuration to meet the needs of the university. Four display measure roughly 2.5 feet high by 10 feet wide while 2 measure 2.5 feet high by 6.5 feet wide. All six feature 3.9-millimeter pixel spacing. These displays deliver additional sponsorship opportunities while also delivering supplemental game information and graphics.

Outside the arena, two marquee displays welcome fans and guests. Each measures 9.5 feet high by 25.5 feet wide and features 10-millimeter pixel spacing. These versatile displays can be used to promote upcoming events, show live games, entice fans with classic highlights and provide many other messaging opportunities for the university.

How many millions of dollars did the AD flush on the previous Daktronics boards? They weren’t even repairing the burned out diodes or bulbs on that thing. Weren’t the boards in the corners just replaced a few seasons ago?

I hope that the new boards actually display useful information instead of just creating more space to sell ads.

What they really need to spend money on is the PA system. Jarnigan sounds like he’s speaking a foreign language.

Don’t forget to get your $14 cans of beer to enhance your fan experience.

These renovations were a key part of the multi-year naming-rights agreement with longtime Tennessee Athletics corporate champion Food City in 2023 that rebranded UT's on-campus arena as Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center.

Makes sense! Apparently Abram's been pretty good in practice, shooting even better than expected.
Which is all I want and said he needs to do on that end, the other 4 spots should be able to do more and draw attention offensively, if he just is a willing 3pt shooter and a good % his defender has to stay home on him.

Would you say Abram is better than Chaz was at getting to the rim and FT line? I’m not too familiar with his game but I do remember he hit some nice shots against us when he was at Ole Miss

IMO…

Gillespie
Abram
Ament
Carey
Okpara

The most appealing part is I really think Abram and Carey are going to be pushed hard by guys behind them to stay starting all year.

It's a good balance of size, experience and just pure talent this year.

Evans, Massamba, Brown, Ament, Henderson for first year HS guys
Cade, JP, Bishop, Felix all with experience under Rick
Experienced guys like Abram, Ja'Kobi, Carey and now Burg as well in the mix too.

Just hope we stay healthy and Ament is as good as advertised, if he is then we're capable of a Final Four run

Hoping...Abram is a bit like a Gainey type player for us.

JG last year was able to give us 28 mpg, hit 40% FG 30% 3PT and score 11.6 ppg... I think Abram will have a better 3 PT% though. But a good 10-12 ppg would be big.

Cause ideally Ament is your primary 16+ ppg scorer...but Ja'kobi can offer ZZ type numbers offensively and then I think Carey can be as good as Igor and Felix you hope just continues to improve.

Abram became inefficient when he did anything other than shoot 3s, not a good midrange shooter and not good finishing at the rim. If he sticks to just being a 3pt shooter, which is all he should need to do on this team he can be an efficient piece. IMO think sophomore/junior Vescovi, almost all shots coming from 3 and helping stretch the floor via his existence.

This is why I ideally like Burg more to start, he can do more than jack 3s. But again happy to have both, especially if Abram is a really good 3PT shooter.

I’m going with whoever is the better volume 3pt shooter as well as defender, which I assume is Abram…Kobi isn’t Zeigler, he’s going to be a scorer and need those opportunities, this more Walter Clayton. Ament is in another league, the hope would be Jabari Smith/Brandon Miller, again he’s going to need a lot of opportunities. Add in the improved front line options and those guys will need more opportunities than last year as well. All that to say that I don’t think we need a 2 guard who is ball dominant and needs the ball in his hands, I think a role player 3 & D type is ideal.

Understandable, I think I just like the ability to score at all three levels. Remains to be seen how well that translates, and ultimately a great problem to have!

Agree. Jakobi and Ament will be the focus of the offensive actions when they are on the floor, and what we need from the other three are a combination of defense, rebounding, C&S 3's, and lob threats off of P&R, which we should get from Abram, Carey or Cade, and Okpara. Burg's 3-level scoring might be much better suited to leading the second unit, where he can be the guy initiating the offense.

I definitely like that ability too, but I think I agree with BTO that it’ll be more even more valuable with the second unit where we don’t have anyone else with exactly that skill set. Regardless of who starts though, I think he’ll get lots of minutes and opportunities and a decent number of those will be with other “starters” on the court anyway so maybe it’s academic anyway.

Very fair, think one of them will be third in back court pecking order one will be fourth, both gonna play plenty. To be honest I’m just excited to hear positive reports about Abram from practices + hyped about Burg’s demonstrated pro ability. However it shakes out, a good player will be starting and a good player will be coming off the bench.

Fwiw front court refers to post players/big guys.

I am hopeful before the seasons starts to put together a film session of Abram, Carey and Gillespie to give a little preview of what those guys brings to the table.

Might be hard to find film on Abram though.
I watch very little preseason film on our teams. I have gotten used to the positive feelings I get when they play their preseason exhibition showdown with another powerhouse
