Makes me kinda like Schreyer, or at least, respect him as a coach. You gotta think Carey is a perfect fit for Rick's physical style of play, can't wait 'til the season starts. I'm also, hoping this game becomes Nate's coming out party. You know ESPN is going to make a subplot of a battle between Ament and the Boozer's twins and the rest of the Duke number one, recruiting class. Should be a lot of fun. I'm saying Vols by 5-10 points, in my way, too early prediction on July 16th.I imagine Duke loves the idea of introducing their young players to the physicality of a CRB team to kick off the year. And that’s what is driving this.
Duke gets to introduce their young talented freshmen to the older physical front line of vols with zero downside. Game doesn't count towards anything and you get to learn a lot about team.I imagine Duke loves the idea of introducing their young players to the physicality of a CRB team to kick off the year. Lol wow. I gotta admit he was before my time in UT fandom, but I did see him several times at RTL.Bumped into Ron Slay today in Atlanta. Said hello and gave him a Go Vols.
My buddy I was with asked me who it was. I explained he was SEC POY etc.. and my buddy assumed he must have played in the NBA.
I told him “No. He was strong, but not athletic enough for the NBA. Wasn’t a good enough defender”
And I looked up his stats to show, and it was even worse than I remembered.
He recorded actual 0 blocks in his shortened junior season. And only 4 in his senior season where he won POY. Pretty wild lol.
