The Office: Season 5 Thread

I liked at the end of last weeks episode, when Charles was going to say something, and Michael was just like "no, you're done" with all the confidence in the world.

well it's casual friday here and it's like I'm watching a rerun of last night's episode.

Casual Friday was a pretty good episode, I'm glad they are ending this season on an up note, because the first half of the season was sub-par by office standards.

I agree. The more recent episodes have been much better. Last night's was one of the best of season five.
How many more episodes before the season finale?

I actually just googled it, and was able to answer my own question. Here's what I founda bout the finale.

It's set for May 14th. "Company Picnic"
"It's the annual Dunder-Mifflin office picnic where Michael and Holly are reunited, and Michael has some big plans for her. Meanwhile, the office competes in the picnic's volleyball tournament."
Somebody also wrote that the season ends with a "doozy of a twist that will definitely carry over into next year." I'm guessing that wiill have something to do with Michael and Holly. Jim and Pam will apparently get married in the fall of next season.

Funny episode last night, as Jim and Creed were playing:

"I want to set you up with my daughter"
"I already have a fiancee, Pam"
"I thought you were gay."
"Then why were you trying to set me up with your daughter?"
"....I don't know."

I loved Michale's good and bad list about Ryan and Pam.

Ha, that exchange with Creed and Jim was great. I guess I missed the list part when my drunken roommate decided to bang on his drums for a minute which were conveniently 20 feet away from the tv.

I loved it when the warehouse guy moved the pallet and lectured Dwight about building forts in his warehouse. The casual Friday stuff was funny too.

But they aren't married. How did that....???

As a whole, I was unhappy with this episode as a finale. They did all that set up for the game against corporate, but never delivered. That's all I wanted to see, but they left me hanging.
Dwight was pretty funny as he tried to stall. Other than that, I wasn't incredibly impressed.
Same thoughts about 30 Rock. It was an okay episode if it was in the middle of the season. Just not a great finale.

The finale was okay, but it left me a little worried about the future of the show. Writing a baby into the storyline of a show is usually a sign that the writers are running out of ideas, and the show is heading for a pretty serious downturn. One of the few exceptions was the Season of Friends where Rachel was pregnant. That was one of the best seasons of the entire series, but it went downhill after that. Well, I'll still be hoping for the best for The Office.

you gotta give michael and holly some credit with their skit. announcing the buffalo branch being closed, and how one of the original owners killed himself was kinda funny

I said the same thing after it went off the air. Not really a strong episode to end what has been a pretty good season. I really enjoyed Dwight's friend....his comments toward Angela were hilarious. They definitely need to do something dramatic to shake next season up, though.

I would really love to see Holly come back on a full-time basis. I think her and Michael together are hilarious....she cracked me up when she would 'torture' him last night, making fun of slumdog.
