The Offical Make Fun Of UAB Thread

Since you know that this has been going on for years, you should know that people usually caption the photos that they post.

I'm not sure an "open-caption" option on pic4 is such a great idea. I can see that going "south" real quick.

Yeah, spring game, but still. How many people are there, 50?

Exactly-----No further jokes necessary.
Average home attendance----(live bodies) 1500.

And now for the rest of the story.

Apparently to remain D1, you have to have an average attendance of 15,000 for your home games.

UAB apparently has some difficulty making the number, so the City of Birmingham buys a block to make up the difference.

How many, you ask?

5,000

That's right. Fully 1/3 of the required attendance is supplied by the city's purchase.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard there was a mistake on the printing of the game tix. Whether it was a 12:30, 3:30 or 7:00 start, the printing company put a.m. and not p.m. on the tickets. The fans have been showing up early and after they find out there was a mistake, almost all of them are going home pissed. The fans you are seeing in these photos are the only ones who went ahead and hung around. If this mistake hadn't been made, I think it would be safe to say there would be another 75 people squeezed in the stadium.

Nope. Birmingham is known for its strict fire-marshall.
