The Offensive Line is Atrocious Thread (merged)

Getting sacked 25% of the time when we drop back to pass. Absolutely pathetic. Wanna know why you're not happy with the play calling? There it is.

The only options are runs or three step drops. How can the line get whipped by Chattanooga?

Well atleast you get it because there will be posters on here later still calling for Butch and Bajakian's heads. The offense works. Our LT is a guard. Our RT played C in high school. The H-backs aren't getting their blocks right either, especially Helm, so it's not just the OL. The plays are there to be made, but the players have to excute properly.

24 points is not getting whipped.
Holding our own is what we are doing.

Not what you want to see against UTC.
There seems to be improvement every with the glaring exception of the O line.

Makes you cringe when thinking how good Ole Miss's dline is. Worley may need to take out a life insurance policy before next week.

Are you saying that a University of Tennessee Lineman cannot block a Chattanooga defensive lineman because he's playing out of position??? Have we fallen that low??? Wake Up. We have a horrible OL coach period. He has never made a good line anywhere he's been.

I've lived in WV most of my life so I've seen a lot of Cinny / WVU games and I can tell you, it's always been this way with him.

All I can say is after watching how bad our offensive line is it makes me have even more respect for Worley. Guy is pressured on every single play and still makes good decisions most of the time. Imagine if he had a line that could block just average. I don't know what the answer is but we have improved everywhere but the OL.

The OC still needs to call plays we can execute

Im not going to say Mahoney is the best OL coach in the world, but to say Cincy has had horrible O-lines tells me you don't have any idea what you are talking about. They ran the ball very effectively under CBJ his last two years. In 2011 they averaged 178.5 yards per game. It's not just about playing in the Big East either. We ran the ball for the second most yards in the last 15 years last year with an experienced o-line, something we couldn't do when Chaney was here.
