The Offensive Line is Atrocious Thread (merged)

OL is at least predictable, they pass protect as pathetically as they block on run attempts, taking the term run or pass attempt to a whole new level.

Freak...thanks to your Offensive Play recording^^^ it's pretty easy to go play by play and watch the technique (or lack thereof) of our current o-line...watching them closely...it's scary how undisciplined, mechanically poor and general lackadaisically participatory many on the o-line are play by play...

They seem to be real good at rushing over to help pick up Worley though *thumbs up*

Their play isn't good. On that point I think we all agree.

Freak I really think we are seeing the best options we have available right now. Given the level of development I am seeing from our "best option," I don't know that it wouldn't be outright irresponsible to put those deemed to be behind what we have on the field into a game.

They very well may be our best options. I certainly don't think the staff would play guys who they don't believe give them the best chance to win. But I think our backups should get reps in a game like this, if for no other reason than to prepare in case of injury.

I'm just like most on here, tired of being one component short of good football. We either have good O or good D, but never both. But, this is the worst O line we've ever fielded in my years.

Agree. We're of like mind. Looking for a little hope and just not seeing it. If the OL was just decent, just average then I'm good. The defense simply will not be able to overcome the poor play of our OL. And unfortunately, we're riding with the same guys next year. Only one I feel really good about is Robertson.

I don're get it...the OL plays respectable against the Sooners and UGA (two high quality opponents) yet look like they regressed tremendously against UF and CHAT...is it coaching, lack of motivation, lack of effort????....BJ owes it to the rest of the team to figure it out....the defense is playing WINNING football but the offense looks like they are lost in the forest. If you can't open up holes against CHAT then what do you do against Ole Miss and Bama? With no running game and no dual threat at QB we are one dimensional and their D line will pound on Worley all day.

This: 52 rushing yards through 3 qtrs. 123 total with 71 coming in the 4th qtr. That is 2.9 yds per carry against the Mocs. 5 sacks allowed against a NCAA Division I FCS opponent.

What else is there to say.

I agree but I also think Bajakian is concerned about keeping the QB alive. Some have said we are playing "not to lose" and to a point I agree in that we are playing not to lose a QB.

Welcome aboard.

And the only problem I have with your 1st post is the word "respectable" .
The O line was bad at 1st and got worse.

Getting sacked 25% of the time when we drop back to pass. Absolutely pathetic. Wanna know why you're not happy with the play calling? There it is.

how can they not improve some in 6 games.i think they have took a step back.

Did they regress, or did Florida watch game film and see a weakness?

I saw sanders and pair at one point. Move Kendrick back to lt maybe try sanders at rt something has to be done at this point. I love coach Jones but not doing anything is plain stupid there is no possible way the backups could be any worse. The fact that they are getting beat by a fcs De repeatedly is an absolute joke.

It's a tough balance. Most fans would rather glimpse the future than just watch the team get drilled. Until we're mathematically eliminated from bowl eligibility the coaches are obligated to play whoever they think provides the best chance to win.

I think it really is that simple.

What the offensive play videos Freak posts and you will see guys on the O line just hop up, peddle back, block air..and let guys just run by and/or around.

There is no real mystery to be solved in regards to getting to the Tennessee QB. I literally know nothing about football but I could scheme against them with three words: Blitz Every Play.

When a Defense gets consistent penetration with a 3 man front there is simply not much an offense is going to be able to do to work around it. A linebacker can stay home on the inside to stop the ground game. Your OLB's are free to scout for slants, screens and quick outs. Leaving a whole lotta help in the secondary waiting to break on the ball for an INT. Basically just sit back in a zone and let the QB pressure work its magic.

It's all about that O Line right now.

Yes, backups got in the game, but if they haven't played yet this year or are a rd candidate, they aren't going to burn a red shirt on nooga.

I see your point but it seems that many on here talk about lack of experience might possibly be part of the problem. I say forget the redshirt and get them some playing time.
Jmho

As scary a thought as this is and I really hate to say it but...... Maybe they're overrated, not big enough, strong enough, ect to play.

Gaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwddddddddd help us!!!!

Anyone else find it hard to believe that there is not a single lineman on the team that is better than Thomas?? I find it very hard to believe that not 1 person could block halfway better

Question(honest)...Many times, I catch myself thinking that playing Dobbs would aid our Offense Line. The theory being, that he can scramble and is quicker on his feet which equals less sacks for loss. Would his lack of accuracy issues(if not improved now), be as bad as Worley getting sacked so much? Worley is a much better QB, no doubt, but would we be any better off with Dobbs?

I swear people must not think before posting. "The O-line had gotten worse." The only way that's remotely realistically possible is because they have Crompton syndrome from their own fans calling them out constantly.

How about maybe considering the fact that the other DC's in the league just happened to watch film before playing us. Out line is a weakness. No one knew how bad until Oklahoma. Therefore, each team is watching the successes against us and implementing the same attacks or are bettering those attacks. You can't seal a breach if armies don't leave it.

Dude. Our guys got whipped by the mocs. That's worse.

Or take someones spot later this year or in the spring. Id rather have some live data to aid that decision.

Ladies an Gents. We have a fighter..I think... Unfortunately we dont win one on ones or anything else.

Dude was questioning my knowledge of competing in sports douche. I'm a BJJ Practioner....and for the ignorant on the subject which you are...BJJ is a sport...and just like in any sport if you're beaten mentally before you step on the field or mat...your chances of victory are ZERO.

Thank you for your service...if you are a real Marine.

Stryker had a whole lot to do with the sacks that game. Not many teams can keep that guy at bay. But, it's clear our OL has taken a step back since that game. Being called out and judged by performance is part of playing at this level....good and bad. UTC sacked Worley how many times?1 time or 6 times? that's UTC
