After last year, GA isn't really 100% sure they can beat us. LSU is just plain terrible! They are back to the Dinardo years! Fifty plus players on NFL rosters and MSU whipped em' like a dog!

Thank you...that Gator team lost to Georgia Southern too yet Butch blew that one as usual...this Gator team will beat Georgia as they always manage to do and represent the East again because we handed to them...again.

Florida played terrible against Michigan which could be a playoff team...but in the SEC East they will manage a miracle as always and do what they do.

Some of you saying 10-2 is possible have not been paying attention. He's shown no ability to win all the games he's favored in and he has one upset over a team as an underdog in his tenure. The numbers don't lie.

To be honest, I'm starting to waiver on jones for precisely those reasons. Either he's stubborn or he doesnt learn or he's not capable of doing things differently. Suspect it's a combination. He's a PlayStation coach who's learned a bunch of cliches and spouts off about 4 year studies to try and convince folks he's actually very smart. He's personable and can relate to kids which is why he recruits so well. The key to his survival is in recognizing great coaching talent and surrounding himself with it. If he fails at that and/or continues to surround himself with buddies he knows for the sake of personal comfort, his future at UT doesn't look bright. Saturday's will continue to expose him. Sadly, I think we are about to go through another coaching search. If Butch were capable, he'd have changed by now. As the op pointed out, this is more of the same. We got practically a new staff, but we keep seeing games like Saturday. Butch is, unfortunately, the common denominator. Just cannot see more than 7 wins and frankly, I'd say 6 is very likely the number.

Butch is like a broken record or that TV series that runs a season too long.
He'll finish this one 7-5 or 8-4 because he can recruit. Just can't build the staff he needs to keep his job and get to the next level.
Butch is like the Walking Dead which should have ended this season. the same thing over and over.
Wish he'd been a Banshee and left us wanting more.

Not sure why all on this board waste their energy pontificating on why Butch ahould be fired. At the end of the day no one here will have any input in his fate or ultimately his replacement. Why? Because you don't pay his salary. The boosters and donors write his paycheck. How many of you here actually donate to the university other than having seaon tickets? It is a safe bet that very little of the State funds actually contribute to paying for the football program. So there you go. College teams have owners just like in the nfl and it is ownership by a very small committee. Please stop enhancing your misery and lets move on. Lot of football to be played. The talent is there for a stretch run. They just need a break or two to pull it all together. Go Vols!

I agree. Do it now, let the Asst. Head Coach/D-Line coach run the show for the rest of the season (otherwise why was he named Asst. Head Coach) - he has head coaching experience at reasonably sized college program - and then get on with finding a new coach. Butch got us from point A to B - but he doesn't appear to have the skills to get us to point C and beyond. If this were my business it would be an easy decision. Waiting and hoping are not plans of action and the AD needs to take action now.

Butch will get at least 2 more years---alabama is a sure loss every year. if he loses next year to florida or georgia, he will probably not last.

If Butch Jones can win 8 games it probably would save his job, but tennessee is going to lose to Georgia, Kentucky,
Lsu, and Vanderbilt and obviously Alabama too. We might beat south carolina...maybe..All in all, Butch Jones and a handful of his staff do not have what it takes to Coach a major school like Tennessee and bring the program back to its winning days. There is too much talent on the roster to be losing they way we did against florida and the games we lost last year as well..except for the alabama game..We will not beat a Nick Saban team if butch jones is head coach..or any other coach at that. Impossible...With that being said, the sooner we cut our losses with Butch Jones and his staff the sooner we can get back to the road of sec championships, and the tradition of winning.

I don't think Currie will wait till the end of season especially if Sumlin gets let go mid season or another job opens sooner. Butch is not getting another year unless he won SEC title and that's not happening
