The next 3 weeks: GET HOOKER TO THE PERIMETER

Lol, Amen.

I thought going into the game if we held Georgia to under 32 we could win. We did but Georgia's D played an inspired game which they haven't really done since playing Oregon. We meet the uninspired Georgia team that played Kent or Missouri they're beat.

Wish we'd had a better performance but it was easy to see what multiple top 5 recruiting classes does for a program. Georgia basically has supplanted Bama in the SEC.
And in 'theory' it's correctable.

These measurable are small, almost infinitesimal, and difficult to measure to the 10th's of a second.

1. OL timing never got set on the snap all game.
2. GA pass rush best we've faced.
3. WR jammed, struggled beat man press.
4. Our best pass blocking RB missed virtually entirely game.

I don't know how much time in the pocket each of those took away from Hendon last night. .1? .05? .2? .......
But I can see this possibly adding up to half a second. Half a second is eternity for high level SEC QB's.

I'd like to think we got GA's A-game and they got our C-game.

I just don't think we've got the athletes to beat their A-game, but I'd like to think our A-game can beat their B-game.

Says the guy riding Georgia’s jock and saying how good they are and that every outcome will be the same and we shouldn’t even get another crack because a team never plays different on a different stage….oh wait, the team we played yesterday got embarrassed in the sec championship game last year only to play better on the bigger stage.
Check the mirror to see who is being the le bouffon.(which is French for clown…because I’m saying you’re being a French clown because the French surrendered in WWII without really putting up a fight.)
Ignore button for you nitwit

Let’s see…we have one bad game against the best defense we’ve faced…SO…yes let’s scrap everything, start over and change everything we’re doing.

Yep….Sounds perfectly logical!

We don’t need to roll him much the in the next 3 weeks to win games. If we win out, and I think we will, we’ll have a month to prepare for Ohio State or Michigan . I honestly believe that.

I think we’ve got 3 weeks to refine the offense tho. We can implement that over the next month and be ready. Hooker is an effective runner. He did not attack the perimeter at all yesterday. We need Hooker to run for at least 75 yards next crack at Georgia. The plays Bennett was making with his legs is what hooker should have been doing.

When after the snap, the quarterback stands in the pocket like the statue of liberty, he will eventually get sacked. Has anyone (coach) even thought of teaching Hooker to scramble and pass on the run ?
Seems when he gets flushed out of the pocket he almost always just tucks it and runs without looking to find a receiver. Maybe that can be coached but it does not seem to fit his skill set. A designed rollout is another matter but is way down the play list if they’ve practiced it at all.

Stetson Bennett had exactly 1 rush attempt. It was the 1st TD of the game.

I assure you Hooker could make Juwan Mitchell miss.

Agreed. If Hooker is going to make it at the next level he’s going to have to do that tho. That’s how the game is evolving. More Mahomes & Rodgers like.

We have 3 good teams to develop and refine/scheme our offense for Georgia. Attacking the perimeter is something we haven’t done. Designed roll outs are something high school QB’s do. Hooker can run and this can be added to his skill set but identifying the need to do this is going to be the coach’s decision. I hope he has a plan, as someone with a medium/advanced understanding of football(high school QB in glory days)—that is what I would do.

Bennett was evading pressure and making the throws he needed to. It seemed like the moment the pocket collapsed, hooker was going down or not finding space.

He can do so much better than what we saw.

They were trying to hard to stick with the downfield game when it clearly wasn't working then UGA took the air out of the ball in the 3rd quarter with the big lead.

More so than what they weren't doing with Hooker I would have liked to have seen some more rub and crossing routes out of the WR though.

The WRs weren't beating their CBs one on one consistently so they needed to get them open in another way.

I think that had a lot to so with Hooker looking hesitant as well. There were a lot of times he simply had noone to throw to. He could have taken off several times to stay out of so many longer yardage situations though.

Small going out early with the shoulder issue or whatever it was didn't help either. I dont think they trust Wright in the passing game much.

I don't put Hooker at risk against the lesser opponents. No reason to expose him to injury needlessly. You save that for the playoffs and or bowl game when it's for all the marbles.

I know I was just thinking I liked how they rolled him out hit the TE a few times. And yeah I get they played Bama not Uga. Good grief. Bama had the #1 defense in the sec coming into the Tennessee game. So let's not down play like Bama is a kentucky.
Bama could also easily have 4 losses.
Texas nearly beat them with a backup QB
And A&M and the pathetic offense they have nearly beat them,
So let’s not put them in UGA’s category

Can't argue with any of your points. Just saying both defenses seemed to be pretty elite. Thought we could of did some things differently on offense to help Hendon. If you ask some kent state put a little scare in Georgia.

Kent st or Mizzou hardly brought out the best in UGA. They knew they didn’t have to play remotely their best to beat both.
