I don’t want to get too cocky and think we’re a guaranteed a playoff spot but we have 3 weeks to tune up and get ready to match up with Kirby.

Our entire offensive scheme of keeping Hooker as a statue in the middle of the pocket should be adjusted. We need to be getting him out to the perimeter at least every 3rd passing play.

Why? You open up the field. GA’s defense was just a steamroller going forward the entire game. Hooker is more mobile than Bennett but he certainly made Bennett look like the better athlete yesterday.

We need Hooker to threaten the numbers with his legs. Make the d-backs think about coming out to make plays on the run. And that will allow our passing offense to open up.

I didn’t see any roll outs. None. Maybe that isn’t in the offense but we need to start scheming for the matchup with Georgia again. And the ticket is to open our offense up.

But what if? Now hear me out 1st....

We start rolling the pocket every 3rd down! Kind of like Kiffin did for Crompton in 09.

If Milton still can't make the reads fast enough, we might need to eliminate half the field for him next year anyway.

OP, I'm just having fun here. But if our best strategy for a rematch against GA is designed QB runs outside the tackle box, we're fundament Fork'd before kickoff.

They didn’t play UGA.
It was Bama, Em, we already beat them
I know I was just thinking I liked how they rolled him out hit the TE a few times. And yeah I get they played Bama not Uga. Good grief. Bama had the #1 defense in the sec coming into the Tennessee game. So let's not down play like Bama is a kentucky.

When you roll the QB, aren't you telling the DBs on the opposite side that the play is over for them? Safety also knows where to support.

It really isn’t about Hooker making the reads—it’s about making the secondary having to at least consider coming up to stop the running QB.
I know. I was joking about the reads.

Between calling a few QB draws and designed runs each game, while already being a proficient scrambler/ runner with the ball in his hands, Hooker has kept teams honest all year.

It was a perfect storm last night. 1. We couldn't get into a tempo and get the timing down for our snap cadence. 2. GA created better pass rush than any team we've faced this year. 3. Our WR couldn't beat the man press and get down the field quickly enough. 4. GA defenders closed on the ball with next level speed all daMn game!!! Seriously, Bennett just had to make J. Mitchel miss in the backfield, than beat 1 man 20 yards down the field to the pylon, and GA was in the endzone. Hooker was having to make moves and beat 3 guys just to make the LOS. And then the other 8 defenders were waiting on him.

A designed QB run to the perimeter isn't going to alleviate the problem.

If the secondary is playing man, which they were all game—you’ve got to do something to make them second guess coverages. They’re sticking to the WR’s like flies on ****—you challenge that by running on the perimeter and making them somewhat commit to challenging the run.

That is literally the only way to soften the coverages and when you have a Heisman front runner that can run, if you don’t play that card—then you’re not playing to win. One thing is for certain—a one step drop 2 yards from scrimmage was not working for us. And that’s because the defensive line of Georgia wasn’t even needing to think about playing laterally.

Did anybody else notice that they had a spy on Hooker most of the game? I'm sure the coaches will come up with scheme adjustments to frustrate the pass rush now that they know what didn't work, but it won't be at simple as rolling the pocket. The dangerous pressure was in the middle and that can stop a rollout before it starts, especially with a spy containing the edge.

….and get Milton ready, because Hooker won’t hold up.

The way to beat Georgia is to win the LOS. Not sure thats possible.

Sorry I’m hating seeing all the Dawg worship from Tennesee fans that watched this game and are ignoring the rest of the season.

Kent State and Missouri both had offensive success against Georgia.

Our offense never even got a chance to catch its stride. That wasn’t Tennessee offense yesterday. You can credit it to whatever you want, but I think we choked and we were waiting on Hooker to do his thing, and he just didn’t get it done.

He’s gotta want another crack at those deep balls and just being in that game so much. And I think he’ll get his shot in the playoff/championship game and I think when we play the shoot out we should have had—that will be the game we should have had yesterday.

Maybe Hooker doesn't roll out because he hasn't had to this season--or it's just not in the Heupel playbook. Either way, were we to play Georgia again we'd have to find ways to be more creative and give them more to think about, and everybody on the offensive unit will have to play a lot better. Hyatt blamed a lot of the problems on the crowd noise; that obviously was a factor--but I feel like we're using it as a bit of an excuse. Our crowd was crazy in the bama game, and it bothered bama--they had a ton of penalties--but they also scored a LOT of points. We just weren't good.

That big defensive tackle for Georgia gave us a lot of problems--he's very good.

Georgia is obviously an elite team. But to think we’re not after what we’ve done this season is completely defeatist. We didn’t play our game yesterday. At all.

Lol, Amen.

I thought going into the game if we held Georgia to under 32 we could win. We did but Georgia's D played an inspired game which they haven't really done since playing Oregon. We meet the uninspired Georgia team that played Kent or Missouri they're beat.

Wish we'd had a better performance but it was easy to see what multiple top 5 recruiting classes does for a program. Georgia basically has supplanted Bama in the SEC.

What happened to Georgia in the SEC championship game last year? Oh yeah, same exact thing that happened to us. And that was at a neutral stage. Are you a Frenchman by any chance? Or possibly a Georgia fan? Because you’re throwing up the white flag way too easy.

Quit being a clown

Says the guy riding Georgia’s jock and saying how good they are and that every outcome will be the same and we shouldn’t even get another crack because a team never plays different on a different stage….oh wait, the team we played yesterday got embarrassed in the sec championship game last year only to play better on the bigger stage.
Check the mirror to see who is being the le bouffon.(which is French for clown…because I’m saying you’re being a French clown because the French surrendered in WWII without really putting up a fight.)

We don’t need to roll him much the in the next 3 weeks to win games. If we win out, and I think we will, we’ll have a month to prepare for Ohio State or Michigan . I honestly believe that.
