I figured I was supposed to guess the real capacity and not the "official" capacity, so I just picked the lowest number on the list.

I understand. But almost all schools inflate their numbers by including the teams, bands, stadium staffs, etc. So, that is the number they give not “actual” fan butts in the seats.

Ive never understood the discounting of people that work there or band members, etc. Theyre still there, taking in the game, doing their job, etc. They’re people so they count. Its a weird gray area that they aren’t ticket holders but it should definitely count toward capacity.

Should I guess yesterday's winning lottery numbers while I'm at it?
You know, though, a pretty big majority that have posted a guess have been wrong. So not every Vol fan keeps up with all of the news out there as you or I may.

That article was a literal waste of time. No one actually believes our demise was tied to the fact we reduced our stadium by 2k seats lol.

Opinion piece. Hard to find true journalism anymore. The dude starts making personal judgment call in the first 2 sentences. It's too much to just observe and report anymore.

The premise of that article is seriously goofy. No kid has a clue whether Neyland ranks 3rd or 6th or 9th nationally. They just know it’s big.

I'm a huge proponent of keeping posted capacity above 100,000 by any means necessary, but 2014 Ohio State is the only program who has won a national title since the Vols took home the trophy that had a larger stadium capacity than Neyland in the year of said championship.

There are a fair bit of downsides for the average fan associated with decreasing capacity, but Tennessee's problems over the last two decades have nothing to do with ever-so-slightly restricting the number of people who can theoretically (yet, in practice, don't; look at how many games have had announced attendance in the 80,000 and even 75,000 range over the last few years) attend a game.

This kid is a total clown. You can see his angle with the headline “continues plague on Vols.” Just stirring the pot. Plus, we dropped by 500-ish seats, and improved the viewing experience for half the stadium. I’d call that a net positive.

Maybe we can just take those 500 seats from the visiting team allotment?

How many games do we sell out each year? Other than Bama, Ga & FL do we even get 80k per game? I see a lot of empty seats.
