I'm beginning to believe that gem from the Wall Street sequel is correct. This team's descent coincided with Mark Emmert's comments about the standards coaches will be held to by the 'AA. It's imperative this team forget about what may or may not happen to their coaching staff down the line and take care of things they actually have control over.

So much easier said than done, IMO.
I really think our staff should be preparing lubrication, IYKWIM

Hat, I've got a question for you. If Pearl is so high on Tobias, why does he insist on not calling set plays for him?? Against Belmont all we had to do was get him the ball down low and it was either an automatic 2 or a foul. Yet he only touched the ball outside the 3 point line. I found that a little odd.

Could not agree more Hat. The kids need to do what they know best and just play.

Agreed to a great extent.

This is where leadership within the team would come in quite handy. Unfortunately I don't think there is any.

I think the letter has been received, the contents of said letter are foreboding, the team has been playing like they know the end is nigh, hatvol has heard this as well - thus the laying down of arms on his part, and of course this is all just wild speculation....

Could it be the letter states we are banned from the tournament this year as to why the players have been playing like they have of late?

If the letter has been received and they have kept it from public knowledge then I tip my hat to that entire athletic dept.

The letter will only contain the official allegations. The penalties won't come until after UT appears before the Committee on Infractions.

Highly doubt that the NCAA had their letter in between the Pitt game and Oakland game. We became the "championship" game for Oakland, Charlotte, USC, and Belmont after the big wins and top 8 ranking. This team could simply not handle it because 1. Their go to player is very inconsistent and gets disinterested too often 2. Williams is too immature to be a leader 3. Tobias is just a freshman so he really isn't a team leader in the locker room at this stage of the season and 4. Those teams saw how to attack us both offensively and defensively.

We have a lot of things that need improvement, and to point to speculation as being a reason why the players are not performing well is a pretty big reach. Problems like Scotty's bad dribbling, freshman not being assertive at times, Williams getting in foul trouble, and new players still finding an identity are problems that we have seen in the past or know could've happened. The looming punishment isn't a reason why Scotty dribbles off his leg, Pearl and McBee are not that good, etc...

Nice summary. I agree. :good!:

Don't get me wrong, I think it is great he is playing a lot of players but to be honest I think that is why we are playing so badly...We are rotating way too much with way too many players...Too hard to get in a groove and we DO NOT GET THE BALL INSIDE TO HARRIS ENOUGH!...He is a beast and we need to get him the ball more IMO.

The rotation is going to get down to 8 or 9 when the SEC gets here. He is playing everyone to see what is the best on floor and how they work together. BP does this every year before the SEC starts. Don't be alarmed. The ship is set for smoother sailing in the future.
