The guy was articulate, has an unscripted passion about him for the challenge that lies ahead, KNOWS the challenge that lies ahead, recognizes what Tennessee means, and is confident he can get UT Football BETTER than it has ever been.

If he (White) has been given full reign of the program, then I hope he acts like it. It's not the next HC's program, it's UT's program, and White is responsible for it. It'll still be here long after the next HC leaves. So I'd like to see hires (OC/DC/etc.) that make sense both in the resume and on the field. No more, 'he's my buddy'.....'I grew up coaching with him' and so on hires. And, please do not make references to BSA. No HC gets free reign to hire who the heck he wants....because UT pays them, the HC doesn't. As AD he represents the University and has been placed in charge of the program. Not the next HC. This simple paradigm shift in who own what needs to change today. If hires are based on that general premise, I'm fine with it.

This hire and forget crap needs to stop.

I thought he did good. Not slick, but polished. Driven but, seemingly, unrigid. Seems to believe the teams (all of the sports) are one bigass team representing the university and are expected to support each other. That's what teams do - build each other up. He is the face of UT sports now and I think recruits and their families will find that appealing. Just my dos pesos.
