The most disappointing part is actually

3rd and 2. 4 defenders bracketing 2. Lb and safety 20/25 yards from the qb drop and no wr within 10 yards. 2 players wide open for easy throws. This **** is ridiculous and happening multiple times every game. This isn’t on the lbs and safeties. It’s where they are supposed to run to at the snap like they are in 1st grade.
I don’t know what defense call has LBs dropping 20 yds on 3rd & 2 but it’s a stupid call.

As far as tackling goes .... Do you remember the play where Alabama was attempting a lateral/throwback pass to the QB ? We snuffed it out and had Simpson covered, and we had defenders in position to make the tackle for a loss .... but then just whiffed, and allowed a big gain into Tennessee territory. That was embarrassingly bad tackling.
And where is our safety when they ran left/right at the goal, untouched?

I can't for the life of me understand how an offensive lineman that was so much bigger than the defensive guy got pushed back six yards.....yes drove back.... into Joey causing a safety. How can a big guy permit that to happen????

That's always easy for somebody to say when something doesn't work. We all couch coach some but I'm sure you've been wrong before in your couch coaching and haven't announced it to board. Bottom line is if he threw it away, we'd have another play. Instead Joey did the one thing you absolutely, 100% could not do.

C'mon man, I've been wrong a zillion times, and was in no way saying "I know more". The point is that we've seen that 'heavy' formation several times this season (never in that situation with a few seconds and no timeouts), and UT generally calls a power running play with Kitzelman carrying or as the lead back. They did change it up at least once and flair Kitzelman out off of play action for an easy throw. I said it might be the play because of the no timeout situation, and Alabama had clearly scouted that play.

Obviously Joey should have thrown it away, but the call was the biggest problem there.

Probably should just discontinue the program.

Might as well, right? Surprised you didn't get 'likes' from those taking you seriously.

Listen, we are all disappointed with many aspects of that game, and it's okay to vent and share opinions, that's what the board is about. It's the butthurt from people taking this stuff personally and the immediate quitting and the "we'll always suck" and "fire everyone" garbage after any and every loss that is so idiotic.

It’s not that simple. It’s not just bitching because a play didn’t work. We called a run fake play on the GL when every person with a brain knew we weren’t running. Everyone except Heup I suppose. We served that up on a platter due to a bad pass and a bad play call. It was absolutely the one play you don’t call in that situation.
So if they run the exact same play without play action, does it make it a good call? Of course not, the sad part was not changing our formation after Bama took a time out. Should have spread them out and gave Joey choices. It was a back breaking play for sure. I just hope Joey is not hurt more than we know. He seemed to be really bothered with his neck. It’s mind boggling how many times we’ve lost to them, Georgia, and Florida on the road. Don’t want to hear we beat LSU on the road because Brian Kelley is a dumpster Fire. Still can’t believe LSU hired him. We have road issues for sure. Good thing is we got Kentucky next, we can always count on them to wet the bed we they see the orange in their stadium. Of course I will say that, and watch us crap the bed if Joey is out.

Give Bamas OLine some credit. When we did get pressure we were not in position to get to Simpson. We were forced to the outside and he used the pocket very effectively. And of course they never hold anyone either.
It’s actually comical to see some of our fans talk about Bama. They act like Bama is just some second rate team that is easily beatable.

Heupel hasn't won at Athens, Gainesville or Tuscaloosa yet, don't see that happening any time soon with these clown coordinators, Golesh was the rare shining star that got out when he could, watching the secondary tonight you truly see how bad of a coach Martinez is, he was bad under Butch Jones, even worse now
Finally, someone that realizes what the problem is. Golesh was the brillance of the offense in 2022 2023. Time to realize what everyone else seems to know is that Halzle is lost in this offense. When UT did not have the horses we have now, we were better then. Time for Heupel to realize it , or it could cost him his time at UT. Between Halzle and Heupel, it is time to figure out how to manage a damn clock. Jeez, that is so blatently stupid to allow this to happen

I come away thinking we have just as much talent as Bama and should of won the game. Seems the players didn't believe they could win. Matthews' drops were bad. I'm mad at him and Joey on 3rd down late throws it out of the endzone. Wth was that ? Props to Bishop for a great game...but even w that horrific int we STILL had a shot. The defense quit. #2 should be cut from the team. The tackling was so bad it makes me suspicious of their being shady stuff going on. That's how bad it was. But even with all that we STILL had a chance if we just played clean. We blew that game when we should have won. I just don't think the team believes that though and THAT is on coaching imo.

I never saw such outstanding defensive backs. Way better than what we have. They made circus catches to intercept the ball and their whole front seven was 'lightening to the ball'. Why can't we get players like that?
We have them. Difference is one team plays on their toes and dictates what the offense can and can’t do while we play passive behind the DL and on our heels in constant confusion about which patch of grass to go stand on.
It’s coaching. Not talent or injuries. Check ULs recruiting rankings the last 4 years compared to ours.

Our D is not setting the edge well at all. Our linebackers are too far off the ball most of the time. We have to mix it up more. We will continue to get nickled and dimed lining up the same everytime. We have very good d-ends, we got to take some chances with our linebackers and upfront. Good grief a few times we had a 3-4 man front on 3rd and short. WTH is that about. Sorry but Telander needs to only be a short down and redzone linebacker just because he simply is not fast enough. Maybe just maybe if we would load up more or disguise more setups we could stop the run and get to the quarterback quicker. My point is we play the standard D every play and teams figure it out easily. For goodness sakes mix it up and get some energy out there. Be the aggressor and quit being dictated too. GBO
