Still in Knoxville. My sons are students and share an apartment in Fort Sanders. Wierd for them to be in class the day after a game.

I'm doing this on my smart phone. Haven't read too many posts, press, tweets or anything yet. I'll post my thoughts. Probably been said a hundred times here- sorry for beating a horse.

First. I enjoyed the drama of the game. Nobody left early.
Last season, same thing except we left the stadium with an L . As ugly as it was, better outcome.

App state a very good team.

Saw two ex Florida quarterbacks as media. Am I the only one tormented by that? Tired of paying too much for a haircut? Get Tebow to recommend a barber.

No Heisman trophy landing in Knoxville anytime soon.

Dobbs pretty much put the game on his shoulders. Love his heart. He was a warrior. Thing is, with the talent we have, it shouldn't have come to that, but it did and we got a W.

The Sutton fumble and the JRM ejection set the tone. Sutton redeemed himself. JRM was a fluke. Right call, but it exposed a flaw in the targeting rule. No fair catch, and the guys whole body 3 feet off the ground. Why else could JRM have done?

Mountaineer fan I sat next to was classy. I didn't see any evidence of anybody being jerks. Hell yes I'd get excited if I was an app state fan sitting in Neyland with the lead through 3.8 quarters.

Glad we won. Nice night for football.
We are a better team than what we showed. Thank god for extra time for VT prep. App state was a great team to start with. No cupcake, and beating the hell out of a cupcake would have been worse. VOLS needed a wake up call.

I think we'll be 3-0 going into Florida and give them a hell of a game. I'm predicting a win, but I damn sure won't think this team will blow out any of the big 4 we play. I know, negavols piling on right now saying no way we beat Florida. I think we will.

Time to drive home. See you in Bristol!

This is true. Thank goodness for Tennessee players keeping focused and winning a close ball game.

Nice post. Get Musburger outta there. Am I the only one tired of handing the ball to Hurd on the opening of every drive? Only saw something diff once. Try a pass! They stack the line for that play. Did the same last year. Defense looked good against a good ASU team playing on heart and true grit. My hat's off to them for a well played game. I'm sure we didn't show our complete pkg in this game, I hope. The best looking part of the game was the field. It looked great. Hope we can say that in Nov!

If nothing else, we are due for a win against the gators, a thoroughly mediocre team that got blown out in their last game against a very average Michigan team. What bothers me is how the o-line got themselves embarrassed last night. Its a sad but true fact that interior lines rarely get better during a season. When they start out bad, they end the season bad. Hope I'm wrong.

Lost it @Tebow's barber. Nice post.

Tebow is wearing the latest haircut you can find prominent in gay bars in LA, SF, Miami, and NYC these days ... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Man, Alvin Kamara is turning out to be one of the biggest waste of talent ever. 6 carries, all sideways? We are turning in to WTU (wasted talent). But on the bright side we are undefeated.

We pulled up the replay of the game for the drive home. Honestly, we were disappointed not to come away with the win and will long remember the great experience we had at UT. Neyland is everything we expected and then some.

Tebow's hair! Ugh! His announcing skills? Ugh+!

Glad you got home safe and didn't find Timmy's barber on the drive back.

I appreciate someone trying to find the positives in the game. Not saying I'm happy with it but I am trying to look at it like this - if we had been playing Vandy or Missouri and eked out an OT win, would people be as upset? And I really think Appy State is at least as good as those two teams.
I have been very excited about this season all summer and I'm just not ready to write it off just yet.
