The more I watch Bama beat UGA and UF

Meh, Nick Saban is the difference maker. He's truly a once in a generation coach that just happens to be the HC for Bama.

I remember when we used to own Bama, and when Bama owned us before that, and so on and so forth. We just need our 2nd coming of General Neyland.
We got him!

Yes.

1999, 2006. Also played them in 1990 and 1991 when having the best record in the SEC/being SEC champ before divisional play.

But, as been said numerous times, beat Florida and Georgia.

Tennessee beats Florida and Georgia, they'll be in Atlanta.

Just off the top of my head, I remember beating both UGA and UF
in ‘ 92 and ‘16 but losing to Bama and then allowing a team we had
already defeated back into to SECCG.

’ 92 , ‘ 16, and possibly others.
16? Lol. Obviously it wasn't losing to Vandy and SC.
Had to look at 92. If we didn't have to play them we probably go to Atlanta. But we should have beaten Arky and SC.

But that's one. In almost 30 years.

They ain't the problem.

You put a bunch of turds in your division so you don’t have to play anybody, which is a theme to the thread.

How would you feel about Florida in a pod with Vandy, Ky and SC?

From a historical point of view, you couldn’t make the pod any weaker
Pods should look like this:
UK, Vandy, TN, GA.
Bama, UF, SC, Auburn.
Mizz, Arkansas, OK, Texas.
TA&M, LSU, Ole Miss, MS.State

I don't have pods. I have two divisions.

East
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
Kentucky
Vandy
Tennessee

West
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
LSU
Missouri
Arkansas
Texas
Texas A&M
Oklahoma

Play your division. No permanent cross division rival. Rotate two teams every year from the opposite division.

Florida also beat Georgia.

I want someone to find the scenario where the loss to Bama was the deciding factor.
I like you Gator...I really do and appreciate that you are on our site. I think there is an indirect Bama effect in the fatigue and injury area. Teams the play Bama get hurt physically and emotionally. This makes them more likely to lose games after playing Bama that they should not lose and probably would not lose if they did not play Bama. That is my biggest argument for UT dropping them.

You want to put FL, TN, GA, AL and Auburn in the same division?

Are you insane?

I get we are down but we will be back and Auburn will be too.

That is a crazy hard division.

If FLA played them every year it would absolutely have mattered more often. At the end of the day Bama is dominant and for that matter so is GA. AU and Tenn are the only teams that have to play them both every year. We start the season 1 loss in the hole strictly by having the annual game against the gumps.

And it seems we always pull a west team that is having a historically good year, just for that year. This year we pulled historically good OM and Pitt, to boot. The luck is crazy.

It's going to be a crazy hard league.

In the last 25 years, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Auburn have all won national titles. 9 of the top 20 winningest programs of all time will be in the same 16 team conference.

I just don't understand this mentality. I get where your coming from and what you mean I really do.

But, if you're going to go that route, isn't Florida an automatic loss before the season starts?

The goal is to reverse this whole deal and make it so that it's not fair that Alabama has to play Tennessee. That it's an automatic loss for Alabama every year.

They're too good. Let's quit ain't going to fix anything.

Oddly our schedule barely changes but you and GA are screwed.

I guess I can take it.

Tennessee usually messes up the Florida game on some level, at some point. Even when we've had equal or better talent.

Alabama has basically been better than Tennessee. Virtually every year.

The goal is to be better than every team in this league and win a SEC title.

Florida (or any team in the conference) having to play Alabama every single year would have obviously had a negative impact on their season record. Alabama has been winning most of their games. It stands to reason playing them is an L.

I don’t disagree. I’m just saying Tenn has to play Bama every year and GA and UF don’t. I couldn’t careless if it has ever mattered, at the end of the day it is a disadvantage.

I don't subscribe to the Alabama is in our division, so we might as well give up football mentality.

It's going to be hard for every team to win the league. All of us, including Alabama. Saban has been making it look easy because he's the greatest of all time.

But, being better than Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida.....all in the same season.

We're all screwed. So, it's either have your stuff together or the pain is coming.
