There is some truth to that but really they are still very easy to scheme for. The way I recall the game - Oregon stood tough for a good portion of the game but what people don't realize is really they wanted to run the ball. The SEC you spread the ball, the good teams can still stuff the run. Which is what happened - actually Oregon's defense played better than I thought but really Oregon's offense just keep setting up LSU scores, iirc.
What was Oregon doing different than TAM, Missouri, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor, etc. Not much really, they just go extra super Uncle Rico tempo instead of just regular Uncle Rico tempo.
Its bad football in my opinion, teams will be able to adjust in the SEC even with the super Uncle Rico tempo.
I'm hoping Chip lands in Florida, put the check mark next to that win when you see the schedule come out.
Don't get me wrong, it will work on some teams, maybe quite a bit but that is really the type of teams LSU has lived on over the last 8 years or so. I'm not sure LSU even tries to scheme against TAM anymore, just pull the notes out from the last year - rinse and repeat.
Remove the super duper tempo, not sure Oregon would have cross their own 35. Its all about the super duper tempo - they call him a genius because he tell his guys to run up the field before the refs get to the line of scrimmage. Don't get me wrong it can be tough for a good portion of teams to handle - not sure it works in the SEC, probably not the SECW - either way some stupid looking football. imo
If Chip Kelly lands in Florida it will be Urban Meyer part II. If you haven't noticed, the SEC is Alabama....four steps down to Georgia and then varying degrees of garbage throughout the conference.
