Thanks.

Here's the deal. I really think Hollins is a great coach, and has lead us to great heights. But apparently these guys on the radio in Memphis are all future recipients of the Red Auerbach trophy, so they know best. I just want to see this team prosper, so if it is without Hollins, I understand.

So let me here your excuses for not putting Allen on Paul and instead letting Conley get abused for the second straight year. What about Arthur over Davis? What about repeating the same mistake that you did last year by leaving your starters on the bench like it's October 20th rather than April 20th. He is a great motivator and has done wonderful things, but he is stubborn and not willing to play lineups that work. He is getting outcoached by Vinny Del Negro for the 2nd straight year. Think about that.

Why don't you come up with your own lines.

Dan wolken:

The Clippers are just better than Memphis, but Lionel coached this game like it was Oct. 21 rather than April 21.

Also I'm not the ****ing coach so don't come at me trying to figure out the ideal line up. Apparently you all already know what they are.

Monday is essentially a must win game. No way we're starting 0-2 and then beating the Clippers in 4 of the remaining 5.

So when you are starting to get destroyed 6 minutes into the 4th with Dooling, Arthur, and Pondexter on the floor you think that is the ideal lineup?

Or how about the genius move where the Clippers had Paul, Bledsoe, and Billups in the game. Lionel puts in freaking Austin Daye at the 3?

There was zero flow to the game because he kept meddling. And yes, I stole that line from Wolken because it described it perfectly (I did use the right date of the game; however) just like it fit him perfectly last year. He does not have a bench that he can just keep in there for the first 6-7 minutes of the 4th. He knows this. He knew it last year. And he continues to do it. Arthur is not the same player that he was 2 years ago right now. Conley cannot guard Paul as evidenced by two straight years. Same mistakes over and over again.

And before we start just blaming the local media, the national media took note as well questioning the bizarre lineups last night. Gottlieb was confused as were a couple of others.

Vernon during the playoffs last year had an NBA guy come on the radio to go into the advanced stats (plus/minus, efficiency, etc...) and it showed the lineup combinations that killed the Grizzlies the most. For instance when we put OJ Mayo and Arenas out there against Bledsoe and Nick Young. The minus for the Grizzlies when those two were in the court vs. that combination last year was astounding.

This year similar stats have been done. Arthur shouldn't be out there much anyway, but stats prove he cannot be out there without Conley. He is woefully in the negative unless Conley is out there, and the Grizzlies are always a better team with Tony Allen on the court (something Lionel refused to acknowledge) and with Ed Davis on the court (something he always refuses to acknowledge). When he came to his PC last night, someone in the front office had to say something to him because after just one question about Ed Davis, he said "all of you will be chirping about my decision to go with Arthur."

What part of I'm not the ****ing coach do you not understand? Also I conceded that if there is a problem with Hollins then we will have to replace him.

Our rotation is entirely too deep. Austin Daye should not be playing, period. Under any circumstance. Ed Davis needs more minutes. Bayless, Davis, and Q should be all that comes off the bench barring foul trouble. 8 man rotation. It's win or go home time. Once again, for the eleventyth billion time, tony allen is one of the two greatest perimeter defenders in the world, put him on Paul. Don't make Conley, the igniter of our offense and guy who makes the team go, chase Chris Paul around screens all night. Simply piss poor coaching.
