Eh, Williams was there one good instate guy they get a year. It will be annoying hearing the "our state" stuff again if he does sign with them.
and they can laugh all the want at 2017 recruiting while we continue to name the score against them on the field.
I have this feeling he might flip to another program before it's said and done. I don't follow recruiting as much as I could, but a player of this caliber doesn't commit to Vandy when you have a list of high powered P5 teams waiting for him. Bama, Barn, UT, FSU, UGA, LSU, Notre Dame, OU and Ole Miss just to name a few.
I'd be willing to bet someone else goes after him before it's said and done. They are focusing on other targets at the moment, but someone will go after him before NSD. And I'd almost bet he flips to a higher level program.
I love the decommit thread they have going on over on VM. They think it's glorious Johnson decommitted UT, but not even realizing that 2017 is a long way away and recruits commit and decommit at the drop of a hat in that stage. And not even realizing we already have two darn good QBs on the roster with a third redshirting and the #2 2016 dual threat QB with an unwavering commitment to the program.
It's hilarious their program continues to slip and trip with their QB position while ours has become pretty darn stable over the past two years.
I want to see JoeJuan Williams flip to another program (preferably UT) just to spite them.
If you look at their commit list, they have 4 out of 15 prospects who hold offers from other SEC schools with two of them only holding one other offer. Now, I don't star gaze so to me a better projection of a player is other schools who offered. A "3" or "4" * recruit with only low level offers generally is a better predictor of talent level. Of UT's current commitments and signees, 14 hold other SEC offers and most hold multiple SEC offers. The lone outlier is a JUCO and many schools do not recruit JUCOs very heavily.
Which brings me to this: the SEC is the #1 league. It should not have to fool around with bowls in backwater towns like Shreveport. It should have its bowls in major metropolitan cities, so dump the Independence bowl and pick up the Heart of Dallas Bowl or one of the earlier Florida bowls.
If I had the choice, I would make the Music City Bowl become like the Hawaii with Hawaii Bowl and in essence like New Mexico with the New Mexico Bowl. If Vanderbilt is bowl eligible, then they get this bowl automatically, and the opponent should rotate between Northwestern and Duke if either or both are also bowl eligible.
It's really sad. Most threads are hijacked by those anonymous, internet losers who like to spew their negativity at every turn.
It must really be a sad, pathetic existence you have to make it important to come here specifically to slam coaches, players and programs. It speaks volumes.
And the moderators allow it to happen. Sad. Really sad.
yes, the SEC should throw its weight around just so that once every 10 years a 5-7 Vandy can go to its own bowl game. lololololol.
