its hilarious to hear them talk about WKUs bad defense like VUs own offense isnt just as bad. They seem to be forgetting that. I know they are crowing about their defense this yr in Nashville but they still gave up 33ppg last yr. This is not the steel curtain we are talking about here. They are going to be on the field alot this season which doesnt bode well. They also are not very deep in any capacity. They got about 5 guys on that defense and if any of them get dinged you are talking about a huge drop off. Plus how much better can you get defensively when you practice against one of the worst offenses in FBS football everyday? WKUs offensive precision, talent and execution will be an eye opener for them.
Yep. I've seen a lot of posts on there about this. They think they have Florida's defense or something. Their defense is garbage, but somehow it's supposed to be their strength this year.
You know you're in bad shape when you're worried about scoring points against WKU, which has one of the worst defenses in FBS.

whats interesting to me is that they are oblivious to the fact that they are a bad matchup for WKU. A team with minimal pass rush and overall they dont have much team speed. Weatherly, Bowden, Butler, Mitchell, etc are big guys with average-below average lateral speed. They are built to play in the box. Now they have to go chase around a well oiled machine playing 8-10 WRs, an athletic TE, and a 235lb RB who does as much damage catching the ball as he does running. And he does alot of damage running it too. Its a bad matchup. They are not even aware of this. WKU was in their 1st yr with Jeff Brohm last yr and they had an awesome offense. I cant imagine thats its going to do anything but improve in yr 2 as they get deeper. Scary.
It was Brohm's first year as HC but he was the OC for Petrino's one year so terminology and gameplan changed minimally, if at all. He may have been a little more pass happy than balanced. If this team does what many in the WKU family think they're capable of, Brohm is going to be on some lists. I believe he's a rockstar in the making. Thankfully he's a KY guy and that provides a little protection in keeping him around.
I know. But yeh, a lot more pass happy. I just hope their defense is better.

So, just to be clear, you said they are a bad matchup for WKU but you really mean WKU is a bad matchup for them right?
As in WKU's strengths play to their weaknesses?
Am I missing something here? It looks like the first post of that thread is just the schedule, but everyone is discussing it like it's an actual prediction. Where does it say whether or not he predicts each game to be a W or L?
