The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Ok, someone school me here.

All I've known about Vandy growing up is that they truly suck at football, perpetually. We beat them every year(save the 2 we won't speak of). They've got a great hospital that gets national praise, and academically the school is prestigious which leads to my question.

Why does this school not seem to give a flip about their athletic department? They've made little to no effort over the years to improve their coaching staffs(in any of their sports), or their facilities.

My guess is they like pretend they are Ivy League and that means they are "above" athletics.

I give credit to Tim Corbin for succeeding despite that.

They have a powerhouse baseball program. Unfortunately they probably doesn't make any money.

It simply isn't a priority to them. And unlike schools like Stanford where talent is more readily available (it's not easy to get into Stanford, but there is an absurd amount of football talent in California), they don't have access to the same kind of players, even with being in the SEC.

they are also a tiny school compared to us as far as the student body goes.

David Williams, VU chancellor (they don't have an AD, as Gordon Ghee, former chancellor disbanded their "athletic department years ago) has put greater emphasis on athletics in recent years than any of my now 35 years in Nashville.

They're upgrading facilities (which will still be woefully behind the rest of the SEC) and paying a competitive salary to coaches.

The problem is, as you said, limited access to elite athletes, especially in comparison to a college like Stanford.

That, and they have like 100 fans show up for games...

speaking about yates, i tried to make an account there years ago and they wouldn't let me join. i have never been there before, hadn't trolled, name wasn't offensive. don sent me an email 'rejection' it had one word. "Troll" of course i was using my UT email address, but that seems unreasonable.

I know they won the World Series last year but that doesn't make them a power house in baseball. They have been more stacked in years past in baseball and have stepped on their D!@#.. I hate Vandy, Corbin is a !@#$ sucker and so is everyone else that has anything to do with that shat school.

Their athletics will always be the same ole vandy. But as far as the school. I'm truly thankful for the children's hospital.

The best part of last night's choke job was that it was a choke job and it happened to their most bitter rival. We consider them nothing more than a gnat most years. They live to beat UT. Their entire lives revolve around UT because they are obsessed with UT. Hell, their entire board is filled with posts about UT constantly. My goodness, I thoroughly enjoyed last night's win knowing how much it tore them up. LMAO.

Don Yates is the biggest limp wristed, prick moderator of any sports board bar none. He never attended one class at Vandy, yet tries to act smug and aloof like the rest of the insufferable pricks over there. He went to MTSU. LOL.

Vandymania is the most pathetic message board on the Internet. It looks like it hasn't been updated since 1999 (don't know why Vandy would have had a message board back then, or ever really) and Done Yates seems to be a loser. He's totally unfair.

I remember immaxyl. Didn't have the courage initially to say who he really was, tried saying he was a fan of all Tennessee teams..... Vandy, UT, MTSU, Tenn St, etc. What an idiot. I was wondering where he went. For those of you on twitter, he goes by the same handle, immaxyl, there if you wanna poke a little fun at him.
