The media is never right

Than why do these idiots keep making picks?

They have to write something when nothing is happening to maintain the illusion that they actually know something worth communicating.

The overwhelming prediction of UF in the East just mystifies me. Not that they don't have the talent or might not win it... but they have bigger holes to fill than UT or UGA with relatively similar talent levels... but the least experience in the whole SEC. They return only 35 lettermen meaning they'll be heavily dependent on guys who've never played college football to beat SEC teams... many of whom return players with 15-30 games under their belt.

Stranger things have happened but I just marvel at the "consensus". There doesn't even seem to be much debate among them. CFB News predicts UF and also says they have the toughest schedule... but glosses over the fact that they lost 9 defensive starters and 2 or so additional lettermen.

I wish someone would actually give a good reason for it rather than just saying it as if it were a given.

Matt Flynn beat Miami like 40-3 a couple years back in their bowl game, with impressive numbers. There's no doubt he's a quality QB.

Flynn played great, but LSU played swarming D in that game too, and overwhelmed Miami... I think Flynn will be ok too, but can't say with no doubt, 1 game doesnt make you, or break you.

I think Matt Flynn will be able to get the job done. I'm sure Les Miles will be sure to choke one game to ruin their chances.

Agreed. I dont think Flynn will be perfect, but I think Miles is more likely to screw them out of a NC berth, I would be suprised if he keeps his job after this season.

Really? You dont think if they are 1 or 2 bad coaching decisions away from being there the faithful will turn on him??? I think those people are tired of having the most talented teams and not getting a NC berth... Then again, I dont know them all to well, just an outsider, but I dont think he is very highly thought of now, just imagine if he jacks up another seaon...

I dunno.

i don't think there is any chance they fire him unless he loses like 4 games, which would be difficult with the defense

I find it hard to see them firing a coach who never won less than 10 games... I think they will lose 2 or less this year, and I can't seem the firing someone who won 11 games a year.
