The Measles outbreak and RFK Jr.'s tepid endorsement of the vaccine

I mean, there is **** to criticize...like RFKjr telling people vitamin A can dramatically reduce measles mortality, when that's only true for developing countries where people have a vitamin A deficiency. It's basically meaningless in the US, and prescribing that carries some risk of vitamin A toxicity, but that doesn't stop the HHS director from offering that as wisdom.

He read it in an article.

Spoken like a true MAGA. No dissenters allowed! Facts not allowed!
MAGA, no. Right-leaning, yes. Differing opinions, yes. Unhinged, borderline narcissistic, borderline psychotic rantings that need a new thread with each passing thought; I would assume a line would be drawn…dare I say a red line?

But you do you, if you must. I do get a good chuckle from them.

One person has died and a disease that was eradicated decades ago is reemerging, likely due to people not getting vaccinated. And the head of DHS, who is not qualified in any way to take the medical positions he has, contravenes well established science based on highly dubious-quality literature.

All against a backdrop of the most anti-science administration anyone can remember.

Yes, its worth a thread.

Kennedy didn't take office when all that happened lol. Hard to put that on him.

This pisses me off, I was at a party where two people were going on about vaccines and Texas, I wish I know that now.

Ironically, I mentioned Amish/Mennonites and a lawsuit from back in the day. I wish I had known that was the story in Texas. Talk about fake news to make Kennedy look bad.

This is a real problem and shows what happens when you put people into these important positions who really do not know what they are doing.
I’m giving you a like for your consistency, but I’m only here on wednesday.

I'm saying that adding that is a nod to the anti vacc loons in MAGAland.
So are you for or against personal choice?

My little one just turned 5. Happily sent her off with her mom yesterday to get MMR and DTAP.

I steadfastly refused to allow her at 3 to be jabbed with the experimental Covid vaccine.

Choice.

Do you realize why those scenarios are different ?;

You do realize it’s most likely due to Biden’s open border policy…. Right?

And the measles has reappeared in the last month? After being eradicated for decades?

How? How could a disease that has been eradicated in the population reappear? Did it manifest itself like a ghost? We know it didn't come from animals because it is strictly a human disease. It requires transmission from a human carrier.

How did measles, a human transmitted disease, reappear in United States amongst a population in which it had been eradicated? What could have possibly changed? Perhaps an unvaccinated person traveled to another country and brought it home, although few countries allow unfettered (read: unvaccinated) travel from the US into their countries.

Or could it be that millions of unvetted immigrants from God-knows-where were allowed into the country without hardly more than a wave to the interior.

But yes, the just over a month old occupant of DHS is responsible.
