That's what our goal line failure is going to be branded officially. Because it is very similar to the "worst call in football history" during the Seahawks/Patriots Super Bowl game.

Here are some funny videos making fun of that play call. Maybe our staff should watch them and see how everyone grilled the Seahawks for not just giving the ball to Marshawn Lynch...enjoy :eek:lol:

Marshawn Lynch on the league "just hand it to me...I'll walk it over, no need to throw it" :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Hitler rants about Marshawn not just running the ball on the 1 yard line.

Just mentally replace "Marshawn Lynch" with "John Kelly" and "russel Wilson" with "Quinten Dormady" and "Pete Carroll" with "Butch Jones" and it gets to be extremely funny watching those videos. Because it's the same Situation...and equally frustrating. Winning against Florida in the swamp after 13 years would have been like winning the Super Bowl for us this season. And the play call blew it.

I have to say it was the most baffling play I've ever seen us make in my nearly 30 years as a diehard Vol.

The problem wasn't that he audibled to the throw because he would have still had three more chances. I love Jack Jones but he backed us up and then it changed their plays. It was a mess.

Uh no.

Actually I took up for Butch hardcore coming into this season. Calling everyone negas and all.

But watching that game Saturday, I realized we have idiots for coaches.

We have one proven coach on staff: Gillespie.

I wouldn't let Butch Jones manage a Waffle House, let alone continue running this program.

While your posting this for your much needed social media "likes" addiction, the two are apples to oranges. The Seahawks play was called by their coaches. The Vols play was an audible from a coach called run play to a pass by a first year QB.

So you're telling me that an NFL QB wasn't allowed to audible on the goal line...

But a college QB starting his first road game, in the swamp, was somehow allowed to...?

And this makes sense to you from a coaching perspective?

Russell Wilson doesn't have that authority in a goal line package...

But Quinten Dormady does...............

Yes. Pete has adknowledged he called that play.

That was my point.

Pete made the call straight up. Didn't give Wilson an option to audible. It was a bad call. But he didn't allow the QB to change the call.

Butch. Let a first year starting QB in his first road game start in one of the hardest stadiums in all of CFB change a play on the line. That is amateur hour coaching.

Saban doesn't allow that to happen. His QB wouldn't have had that choice first off. But if he accidentally gave him the option, and the QB tried it, there would have been a timeout called and a headset thrown and bad words said.

It won't be the last time something this stupid happens this year. I was extremely supportive of Butch before this season. I thought he had built momentum and made good staff hires. Corrected his problems. Then the GT game happens. Then this crap happens.

This is 2015-2016 all over again. He's making 1st year mistakes in his 5th season.........he's not going to wake up out of bed tomorrow a new and improved coach.
