The last time we lost to Kentucky I was at that game in 1984. It was so damn cold we left early so we didn't have to watch the clock tick down to Zero and take the loss. Brrrrr. Black Jack warmed us up quick though.

That was my very first game. Dad took me. I was just a young guy in first grade Mom dressed me in blue jean overalls and a white thermal with a blue toboggan. Wore my heaviest coat. On the way there, dad threw my toboggan out the window and stopped at a store (wanna say Dollar General?? ) And bought me a bright orange hunting toboggan .

Good memories of that day and the game atmosphere. But we lost. .

You sure about that? T Rob's issues didn't come out until 1985 but he could have been using then. It was the 80's after all.

Well I’m in my mid 30s and I wasn’t even alive if that tells you anything. We are making all sorts of bad history.

I was at that game and back then you couldn't ground the ball to stop the clock. The last play was TRob throwing it OB to try and stop the clock.

Yup I was there too. We had just completed basically a long Hail Mary from near our own goal line to about the 25 with no timeouts. As the team ran the 60 yards to line up before the chain stoppage ended, there were 3 seconds on the clock. At least a dozen of us in the stands were all saying "don't try to kill the clock". Sure enough, Robinson steps back and chucks it into the stands to kill the clock. Game over. We all mostly just laughed.

I was 19, a Volunteer overseas. I didn’t know we had lost until I read it in the newspaper the following day. How the world has changed back before we had the internet.
