I probably liked the music better with Sammy. Probably was it just wasn't Van Halen. I saw them on the 5150 tour back in 86 I think it was. They put on a excellent show.I liked this and showing my age at the same time. Lol. I hated when he left Van Halen, they never were the same for me after.
Side note: Sammy Hagar was ok, but not.
My wife seen Van Hagar in Dec 85 with BTO as a warm up. She said they, Van Hagar, kept running off stage and were clearly stoned out of their minds. When they completed their set, the crowd was chanting BTO! BTO! BTO! Then BTO reappeared and played another encore. Of course, I was in survival school in AZ at the time and missed the whole dang thang. LOLI probably liked the music better with Sammy. Probably was it just wasn't Van Halen. I think it was the same tour. I saw them at the old Municipal Auditorium in Nashville. My wife seen Van Hagar in Dec 85 with BTO as a warm up. I am a staunch Van Halen fan and hated it when they and David Lee parted company.
I loved them with DLR too. Here's the thing, we used to always MTV on in our living. When Roth came out with California Girls and Gigolo, my mom turned into a DLR fan. And it forced me to reevaluate taste in music. Of course she was right, but I couldn't admit that at the time.Difference in ages, but neither is wrong.![]()
