Got an alert saying you replied to this thread.
I had an idea that, maybe, the alerts are set up in some kind of pecking order to cut down on the number of alerts one receives from a single post.
Scenario: If X posted a reply to @xyz in the "Last" thread, then, instead of 3 alerts being sent, one for the new post, one for the reply, and one for the @, only one alert would be sent due to the pecking order.
The REPLY alert seems to be #1 in the pecking order, thus, in this scenario, only ONE alert was/Is sent to XYZ.
Therefore, with the above scenario in mind, my hypothesis WAS this, if I posted @Behr in a thread he has never been in before, he would get an @ alert because it would be the only priority in the "Alert pecking order". Made cents: to me. So, I tried it out.
I went into the Gaming Forum, found the Thread with the fewest posts so I could ensure Behr hadn't ever posted in it. I posted @Behr about 20 minutes ago AND nothing.
So my computer programming/science career was short lived (22mins).
And now I'm back to being the small brained poster that i was 23 mins ago.
I though you said you got the one in the politics forum? So are you not getting them here or the politics forum but you get them everywhere else?Yea I could have told you that whistle britches. Lulz.
Kidding aside, Freak tried the same thing with me, trying to tag me in the PF the other day. Nadda.
We did figure out that if you’re watching a thread and someone tags you, you won’t get an alert for both the tag and the watch, just the watch. I think.Got an alert saying you replied to this thread.
