The Last of Us Series (HBO)

Episode 2 was amazing! It was the best one since the Sam and Henry episode last season!

The most heart-breaking scene for me was at the end, during the aftermath when the town of Jackson is "counting the cost" of everything and they're having to shoot the citizens who'd survived but were bitten! That was sad!

I'm assuming the dogs aren't susceptible to infection?

For now, animals are impervious to the infection. But if they ever are, humans are absolutely screwed in that world! In fact, that was one of my predictions for the 3rd game if they ever make it. I predict that in the 3rd game, the remaining surviving humans are losing the battle with the infection and the final deathknell will be the infection mutating to animals.

My wife and I laughed at the “dad” line… but I’m realizing I don’t think that was actually meant to be a joke.

I waited a second to see one of them crack a smile, and quickly realized they weren’t going to, lol.
That was THE dumbest line in the whole show, last season or this season! My wife and I, at the exact same time, rolled our eyes and said "oh my god!" That whole sequence was just dumb! It literally went like this...

"Hey I'm immune!"
"Hey I'm pregnant!"
"Hey lets finger bang!"
"Hey let's co-parent!"

Latest episode (2:5) was solid.
For me, I think everything AROUND Ellie in this show is cool! My issue with the show really just revolves around Bella Ramsey. I just don't like her as Ellie, and I don't find her believable as Ellie. They could've found somebody way better to play that character, I think.

I’m not a fan of flashback episodes, normally. With that being said, this is exactly how you pull off a flashback episode. I went from feeling disappointed that it would be a wasted week to feeling like my heart got ripped out by the end of it. Fantastic.

God knows I've had my issues with this series, season 2 especially. But this week's episode was stunning! It might be my favorite episode of the entire series!

I sure didn't see what all of you saw. Was good but nothing special. Reading some of the comments I was expecting/hoping Elie got killed.

For me it was seeing how well they were getting along and already knowing Joel’s end result. It hurts to watch them slowly crumble knowing she will never get a real chance to reconcile. Pascal’s acting was also phenomenal, IMO. The scene where he just cried and nods his head required no dialogue and yet still hit me in the feels. Also, I guess it helps that I did play the first game all the way through. So not only did I have the first season of the show, but I also had about 30 hours worth of playtime watching the bond between the two form.

I was really moved by the scenes with Eugene and how Ellie made the connection with Joel lying about shooting him and lying about what happened in SLC. I also loved the opening flashback scene with young Joel and Tommy and their dad. As a father of 2 sons myself, the "little bit better than me" line from Joel and Tommy's dad really hit home! Not that my dad was abusive to me or anything, but I could hear my dad saying something like that.

This episode was a total letdown after last week's masterpiece. I'm ready to be done with this series.

I agree. 7 episodes and done. With a track record of taking YEARS between seasons. At this rate they can drag out just the second game for a considerable length of time.
