How has this guy not been mentioned one time on VN? This is an insane story that I've been seeing for weeks from 2,000 miles away. I've been wondering how this happens in America. It turns out it might be because his neighbors on VN don't care enough to even mention this gross injustice. 🤷‍♂️

And which one of our politics forum posters is missing? 😄

Gotta be more to the story than posting memes. If not this country is turning into the insane governance you find in countries like the UK (They got a King hmm). Probably some "inciting violence " nonsense.

Sure seems the snowflakes arent who the snowflakes thought were snowflakes.

I read a book about 15 years back, I can't remember the title, but each chapter was a different case kinda like this, where you can't believe wtf is happening. What happens is LEO's and government prosecutors make mistakes and they're so embarrassed, they feel they have to find something. So they drag **** out until they do, or can get you to accept a plea, or whatever they can do to save face.

There was one case where a guy got convicted of conspiracy to import an illegal orchid from S America. He got raided over BS, they thought he was involved in drugs. They didn't find anything, except an email with that orchid inquiry. He didn't even know it was illegal to import it, nor did he actually import it.

If you remember the title post it! Unlike most Republicans I can/like to read.

Non pay walled story with less bias.

Still doesn't paint a great picture for the government. The fear was one of the memes was taken as a threat to shoot up a school. But the details don't seem to really match up with the claim. But it certainly wasn't just for anti trump memes.

So idk, maybe there is more to it, but for now it sounds like an L for the government.

But it is "just for anti trump memes." The government is stupid and their problem is their misinterpretation of what happened. It's certainly not untruthful or misleading at all to say he was arrested "just for anti trump memes." If you didn't rob a bank and you got arrested for robbing a bank, you can safely say "I got arrested for nothing."

To take his point that Trump said 'we have to get over' a school shooting as a threat of a school shooting takes some real paranoia and some stupidity. That is if anyone really took it as a threat. It looks more like a dumb move by hyper political law enforcement.

in this case he was arrested for making threats of violence, and linked to a story with violence at a place with the same name, linked it to Trump, and said it was interesting.

as I said, its bogus charges. but its not like he just posted "Trump is fat" and the gestapo showed up like you imply.

This is going to focusing on the SCOTUS case counterman v Colorado... If they prove he acted recklessly posted the meme..... Prior to that ruling the standard was would a reasonable person see this as a threat.. The ruling changed the game...

I couldn’t read Huff’s post, but according to the Tennessean article I read, his post was believed to insinuate a mass shooting at the high school in Perry. The meme he reposted was a Trump comment after the shooting at a Perry County, Iowa school, but sounds like “Iowa” was left out, so parents and school officials were concerned. He’s also a former police officer.

Edit: Sorry, think I doubled up on @LouderVol ‘s post

He posted a meme about a high school shooting. He posted the meme in reference to a Kirk event at a high school.

I have zero issue with this. I think he should likely be found not guilty or the charges dismissed entirely. But I also think they’re right to investigate people posting school shooting memes in reference to upcoming events at a school.

And a man who just trolls on Facebook all day, sounds like a likely suspect

at most, it should have just been an "investigation". send someone by his house to talk to him, and left it at that.
