Many is the time I have hit the Krystal either in my Saturday drunkeness or my Sunday sloth.......alas, my gall bladder can no longer handle the carnage created by those little gut bombs.

Zesto's in Atlanta is about as bad.

Nothing like the 3 night run surrounding the 1998 SEC Title game:
Thursday Night(Knoxville): Cuervo Shots and Pacifico at La Paz until 3 AM. Stop at Krystal on Cumberland for 5 Cheese Krystals.
Friday Night(Knoxville to Atlanta): Beer and moonshine on the ride down. Stop at the Varsity for three fully loaded hot dogs and fries before whiskey shots in Buckhead.
Saturday Night: Celebrate Vol win by drinking the Marriott Marquis out of liquor, literally. On to the Waffle House for two bowls of chili with the works and a slice of chocolate pie.

Good times.

Sounds reasonable to me.

White Castle is about 4,756,975x better than Krystal's has ever been though to be.
You sir have commited sacrilege. I formerly challenge you to a little square hamburger eating duel (slapping you in the face with a wet golf glove)..

We never had the original Krystal in the Tri-Cities (I think the current burger is not as good as the original).. But we did have the Blue Circle, and there is still one left in Bristol on the Bluff City Hwy. They are much like the original Krystal, plus they have many other great sandwiches and make the old fashioned milk shake with ice cream. I wouldn't take 3 Krystals for one Blue Circle Burger.

You guys/gals are killing me. The only thing we have here is pizza hut and KFC. I would die for a good , greasy burger at this point. I'll be on vacation next week, and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into a BIG MAC....it has been over a year since I have been to McD's.

Yeah, there are Krystals now, but I don't like them. There were Blue Circles in Bristol (2), Johnson City, Kingsport, Morristown and Knoxville for sure, and may have been others. They started around '59, I remember they were 10 cents and 12 for $1. I got to know the owner, Mr. Irwan about when he retired. His daughter worked for me at one time. Now she and her husband run the one in Bristol. They still have the call-in curb service phones.

I thought there was some kind of connection with Wometco Enterprises in Asheville and there were Blue Circles down there.....next time I'm in Bristol I'm going to stop in for a burger.

He may have sold a franchise in Asheville, I'll ask the next time I stop in. They are next to the Put-Put near Haynesfield Elementary. Tell them I sent you, they are big UT fans as you will see. Mike and June.

amen. while it may not be some crappy mini burger, nothing tops Pal's for a fast food burger.

But there are a plethora of good mom and pop diners with good burgers. My favorite would be Aunt B's on the Milligan Hwy.
