The Knechtion

Knecht with 17 right now against the Magic. Just drilled a three to give the lakers the lead in the 4th

I am so confused these last 2 games why have DK and Russel coming off the bench? One or the other should be the starter. Cam Reddish has no business starting over either of them or playing more than 15 mins. I get he's in there for defense but what he brings in defense as a starter does not make up for his almost complete lack of offensive threat.

I don't get it either. Maybe matchups. Of course the Lakers got blown out both games.

up until that they had been starting Reddish at a 3/4 and either russel or DK at the 2 since Rui is back they have moved Russel and DK to the bench..Rui starting over those 2 makes perfect sense... Reddish not so much. Not given what we have seen maybe he makes a change after back to back 20 point thrashings.

This felt obvious, but surprised it took 2 blowouts for Reddick to realize it. Dalton was on a heater when he was a starter, and he’s struggled to get better looks when he’s running with the 2nd team. It felt really weird to bump him to the bench when Rui got healthy. I get the idea that injuries aren’t supposed to lose you your starting job, but still, odd coaching decision.

I didn’t get the substitution pattern the game before this last one. DK sat the bench for a long time while the other team was making a run. He essentially got iced on the bench.

Finished as the leading scorer with 20 points(8-15), 8 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. No reason he shouldn't start going forward. He is looking like he's settling in on the defensive end.

He needs to be a full-time starter. It’s clear that he isn’t nearly as successful with the backups. He needs to be on the floor with the main rotation to maximize his strengths because the Lakers aren’t deep enough for him to run with the 2s.

Wow whadaya know put DK and Russel back in the rotation correctly and use Reddish situationally off the bench and what happens? Instead of losing by 20+ you win by 19.. on the road. Yet another easy work triple-double for Bron. 7 of DK's 8 makes were assisted by Bron 4 or AD 3.... he is literally the shooter Bron has been begging the Lakers to give him for years.

I know this is kinda off topic but I was looking through the box scores for the Lakers game and wanted to see how Keon was doing (he's scored 2 point through the 3rd quarter) I noticed Ben Simmons had scored 14 points on 7/8 shooting and after doing a double take did a bit of digging and saw this and LOLed so hard

I do not think there has ever been a shot chart like that for a non center in the NBA. Also none of those were dunks... layups and a 5 footer.

And Keon keeps sending Devon Booker to the free throw line... he's about to foul out the dang game. all 5 of his fouls were shooting fouls and 4 were on Booker the other on Grayson Allen 2 of the and 1 variety.

He's 6'10 and can't shoot, 25 years ago, he would have been a center

Another nice performance tonight, 20 pts, 6 Reb, 4 ast on 7-15(6-11). Leading scorer tonight and got iced out in the 4th.

He is already a star. My god how did so many GMs pass on the guy who multiple of the more knowledgeable college scouts, announcers who were former coaches and current college coaches said was the best college player in the draft.

The guy is a damn immediate all-star in his rookie year. A case can be made that he might (emphasis on might) not be performing as well in some other situations but the talent is and was undeniable coming into the draft. I think he would be doing solidly and at ROY level with any team that didn't have a log jam of top flight talent at his position.

The Lakers lucked into the best pick of the draft and a future franchise player by today's standards of needing 2-3 guys with DK's level of production and a good supporting cast of role players to be a contender. He is also marketable, won't cause headaches with his attitude or in contract negotiations and is the perfect unselfish teammate who lives and breathes basketball.

Bron's "they didn't F it up" take was the most correct he has been about anything in his career. When Bron and AD look at you as being a no doubt superstar that is on their level or very close to it then you know you have arrived. Luckily, I'm pretty neutral on LeBron and AD as players who are good guys and I really like Redick as a coach so I can stomach being a Lakers fan now.
