Kim doesn’t handle subs…it’s her assistant That came over from Glenville state. Subs are pr determined more than likely rather than feel.. the only feel is more than likely from fouls… this imo where the chances need to happen. If a matchup is in in favor of us… then we have to take advatags… when we go on a run… ride it for another min to 2… If a player is playing like dogshit then skip their turn the next schedule sub you have for her… if a player has hit 2-3 threes in a row.. ride her For another pattern. the coach subbing is lacking the feel for the game… the flow… and the reading of who ja playing well within the momen… the mass subbing doesn’t bother me it’s the above stuff that I feel like coach B is lacking. Each game and each quarter and each 4-5 mins are very important for the coach to read/ feel/ and have knowledge of what’s going on… for example, If a certain player is taking a bad shots not within the offense or not sharing the ball or pressing like you want… you punish and reward who is… right now regardlless the top 10 players know they are going to play regardless so that the downside… but you can still reward and punish within the system without them knowing.
With this Tennessee team it should be 70 to 30 in the least. The 46 percent for a team that shoots three like we do is an embarrassing stat. A true reason why we've seen some games go sideways in the second half of games. I don't want to dumb it down for our players and coaching staff, but we've score 573 points from the three on 632 attempts and 744 points from the two on 740 attempts. Seems to me you would want to push that shooting more towards the two point shot with this team. When your threes are getting you 0.9 and your twos are getting you 1.01 seems your best opportunity for points is the latter. Here is the rankings for WBB by 3P% of shots taken. You can see that none of the P4 teams outside of UT shoot the 3 at that high of a rate. It’s an interesting list to be sure.

Can we all now just agree that this system doesn't work against the best teams at this level?
Marshall losing in the NCAA like they did should have been a big red flag.
You have to have a good coach to know to trust her players, sit her players, give them extended minutes and etc. The assistant coach that is doing the subbing has to be readyBasically, substitutions then is a pre-game decision not a "what needs to happen" in the context of the game.
The question I would have is whether any coach, including CKC, has a good feel for the game as it happens - or are they just riding it along believing that the flow of the game will change as it happens. If it is the latter, then the coaches may as well just go get food and watch the game from the stands and give the players a chart which tells them when to substitute.
Luckily for her, the freshman seems to actually want to play for her during the growing pains, but the vets have definitely clocked out! A non chalant coach, trying to get an undisciplined, bad body language team is a recipe for a locker room and chemistry disaster.. I hope they make the NCAA tourney with the schedule that’s remaining, but mentally, this season is practically over for me personally! Still rooting for the ladies, but Looking forward to next season!
I think Latham plays hard , not that you said she didn't, but most of the upperclassmen don't.And this speaks to the heart why I'm upset with Zee and Talaysia because they played in this system last year. It's not like they are in the Nya and Janiah situation with this system. They at least know, but that speaks to the lack of leadership those two have.
Like I said in an earlier post the best i seeI have been saying all season that this system doesn’t work against the elites of the women game! Those teams are too disciplined for that weak press defense, and too disciplined to make the Lady Vols jack up 3 after 3…
Yet, Kim is too stubborn to ever tweak her system to fit the team strength she has.. She have young, athletic guards who should be getting downhill more, setting high screens and actually moving on offense instead of standing in one spot watching their teammate jack up a 3 after missed 3..
Constantly runnning the same pressing defense which is easily scouted, and let’s not even begin to talk about the constant subbing that probably keeps the ladies out of getting a good rhythm… but yet Kim still believes that her system will work while constantly losing to big programs!!

Is an 18 -10 win loss by the end of February.
If she is stubborn like a couple of ex football
Coaches and won't change her system to a
More conventional one next year could be
Her last. If we don't make March madness
It could be this season. Jmo.
Plus not going to work my butt off for forty minutes in her gimmicky system like some of the players did not all and have it thrown at me that I quit. If you think you have to go there as a coach name names not everyone. Going there in the first place is a huge problem.I think Caldwell has boxed herself in to a Catch-22. She sells "freedom" to recruits and transfers, which basically equates to players being put in situations that don't play to their strengths. Apparently she thinks shooting 45 threes in a game is "freedom". But if she suddenly takes that "freedom" away, her selling point is now null and void and what is there left to sell about her system?
Yep, she made matters worse by throwing players under the bus publicly (even if her assertions are true). I previously scoffed at all the talk of a mass exodus prior to this, but now I wouldn't be surprised at all, unless there is some miracle ending to this season. Who wants to play for a coach that doesn't take any accountability themselves? I guess we'll see what both the players and coaches are made of in these remaining games.Plus not going to work my butt off for forty minutes in her gimmicky system like some of the players did not all and have it thrown at me that I quit.
